Investigating Solutions for a Changing Planet
Funded Oct 9, 2019Thank you so much for your interest and generosity. The students were so excited to receive and setup their new lab equipment. They will use the materials for several project. Their main goal is to understand plant interactions, development, and propagation. With this information they will plan how to grow plants in limited space and how to best propagate species for conservation.
They are currently using the materials to study plant phenolic compound production and get a better understanding of how to grow plants on the ISS VEGGIE system.
Thank you again for your generosity and interest in my students.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018I would like to take the time to thank you for your donations. Because of your generosity our scientific research and communication students now have chrome books to use in class. This impact expands beyond the classroom as these students are participating in science competitions and conducting experiments that require them to do research, write papers, design posters, and analyze and present data.
Concomitantly, Students learned the proper techniques for using micro-pipets. In the course of the year I will be developing a biotech class that heavily depends on the donation of materials from generous individuals/companies that see the potential in our youth. In the mean time having these supplies allows for the students to practice and prepare for the course in addition to expanding the range of topics that they may experiment with.
Students were excited and eager to use the materials. They felt rewarded and proud that someone believed in them and cared enough to contribute to their future and our goals.”
With gratitude,
Dr. Salazar
