Rewards for Reaching Goals
Funded May 4, 2023I couldn't wait to share our gratitude and excitement with you after receiving your incredibly generous donation for our virtual class. Seriously, your support has us doing a happy dance!
Thanks to you, we got our hands on some seriously cool fidget items that have become the talk of our SVL classes. The enthusiasm among the students is infectious, and it's all because of your fantastic contribution. These little items aren't just tools; they're tokens of achievement, and the students are over the moon about earning them through academic achievement and grit.
I can't express enough how your support has impacted these students. The energy is palpable, and we're all buzzing with excitement. Your donation has turned ordinary days into memorable ones, and we can't thank you enough for that.”

Let's Celebrate Social-Emotional and Academic Success!
Funded Oct 20, 2021Your donation has provided my students with a truly magical experience! Goal setting is a big part of each day, and we love to celebrate reaching our goals! Whether we are working on a social-emotional or academic goal, students know that consistency pays off.
The point system in our class creates opportunities for every child to succeed. Once students have earned enough points, they get to choose from quite the amazing treasure trove!
Many students have expressed that their favorite personal items are from our treasure box. We are so grateful for your contributions to our class. Not only are students receiving fun and desirable items, they are also goal setting consistently and successfully.”

Mrs. Harwood

Funded Aug 26, 2021Thank you so much for your donation to this project! My project's goal was to bring musical instruments into the classroom so students could explore mathematics, language, social studies, and science through another lens.
The looks on my students' faces when I presented the ukuleles and rhythm kit were absolutely priceless. The use of these instruments in class is something I intend to use for the rest of my teaching career.
I have continued to research the use and benefits of arts-infused curriculum in the classroom, and how to incorporate these strategies into my own teaching. This has opened many doors for me to learn right along with my students, and our classroom community has benefited greatly from this project.”

Funded Nov 30, 2020Thank you so much for your generous donation. The printer you helped fund with this project has been quite busy these past few weeks!
Having easy access to a printer has allowed me to send families differentiated materials on a weekly basis. I am able to find resources that target student needs, print them, and get them to families as needed so our distance learners have tactile materials in addition to our virtual materials.
I have also been able to provide families with scripted lessons that they can use with their kids at home. Parent engagement during this distance learning process has increased greatly now that I have the ability to quickly assess each student and find "just right" materials to send home to them. Not only will this printer be beneficial during distance learning this year, but it will be an invaluable tool to have in the classroom for future years to come.”

Two Screens for Virtual Learning!
Funded Oct 19, 2020Thank you so much for helping to bring a second monitor into my home office as we continue with distance learning! This year has been full of challenges, and I have found that the type of technology I use significantly changes how well I am able to deliver lessons and engage in meaningful discussions with my students.
A second monitor allows me to see students at all times during my lessons on one screen while sharing materials in our virtual classroom on my second screen. Before getting my second monitor, I had to rapidly toggle between materials I was sharing and seeing students. While I did the best I could with the technology I had, I knew I would be able to teach more effectively with a second monitor.
Student discussions and engagement have skyrocketed in my class since I received a second monitor. Your generosity has truly enriched our virtual learning experience, and I can't thank you enough for your support!”

Funded Sep 12, 2020Your donation is helping me create such a fun and magical experience for my first graders! Reading and writing can be a challenging task, but the resources purchased through this project have helped make a fun learning environment that students always look forward to!
The story wands have become a favorite part of literacy time for us. The questions help my students with retelling, setting a purpose for reading, reflecting, organizing, and so much more! Another favorite resource among my students is the Storyteller Writing Box. The words provided in the kit help us come up with unlimited story ideas, and the writing folder and pencil grips were sent home to families to help with organization and ensuring a good hand grip.
The Let's Talk Conversation Starters and Correct the Sentence Journal have been invaluable tools as we continue to practice literacy and build a strong classroom community. The amount of student engagement in my class is absolutely wonderful, and I couldn't have created this type of online environment without you.”

Funded Aug 11, 2020I am so incredibly thankful for the support you have shown my class. My first graders may be learning from home, but parent engagement is the highest it's ever been! After receiving these resources, I was able to sort and put into manipulatives into take-home kits for each family.
Students and parents alike have responded to these resources with loads of enthusiasm! Parents are finding that incorporating games into learning time is creating a learning environment at home that is both fun and can include everyone in the household.
Each week, I add a new word list to my website and families have been able to use the materials in the sight word game as a launching point to expand student vocabularies and practice at home. We have also been using our rhyming word cards to help us write short stories, poems, and even create songs!
These resources have brought so much joy to my students and their families. Thank you for making this possible.”

Funded May 28, 2020These materials have made such a positive impact on my students' lives these past few months. The rekenreks are an invaluable tool that students got to use during our virtual sessions. The rekenreks will continue to be extremely useful as math studies resume this fall.
When I received the donated items, I set to work on preparing goody bags to send home with the kids! Students were delighted when they discovered they had straw connector sets included with any personal items they had forgotten to take home. Many parents commented that it felt like Christmas in their homes when their child received the sets. Siblings all gathered around in the living room for hours and hours of building, and the fun continued each day!
I provided families with suggested projects for fresh ideas on what they can do with their items. I have continued to receive pictures throughout the summer of students playing, learning, and building using the materials you donated.
Thank you for helping this project come to life. These kids are so fortunate to have supporters like you.”

Funded Oct 28, 2019The generosity you have shown to me and my students is absolutely incredible. Thank you so much for helping me increase the academic rigor in my classroom as I begin my first year of teaching 1st grade.
The STEM materials you provided our class with have been quite the hit! Students love coding our Robot Mouse to scurry around the room in different patterns, build masterpieces out of straws and building blocks, and carefully follow directions step-by-step. The moment my students saw the materials you donated to our classroom, their eyes lit up like it was Christmas day!
One of our favorite STEM stations is playing with the marbles. Connecting tunnels, tubes, and obstacles sure makes for an exciting afternoon! Thank you so much for your donation. You have transformed learning in our classroom into such a thrilling adventure.”

Funded Aug 13, 2019If you took a peek into our classroom, you would find a myriad of exciting seating options that students can choose from. This is all thanks to you! Our classroom has turned into a fun, vibrant, comfortable, and inclusive environment that students truly enjoy spending time in.
Each day you might find a student who makes a different seating option based upon their needs. Students often find themselves feeling restless and have a hard time staying seated in their spot to get their work done. However, the introduction of wobble stools, yoga balls, floor cushions, and crate seats has transformed our class into a productive and enjoyable work environment.
Students in my classroom have been able to release more energy through these flexible seating options you provided and engage more with one another and our learning targets. I can't thank you enough for your generous donation.”
