  • A Beautiful Place to Learn

    Funded Aug 20, 2019

I have put to use the materials donated by beautifying the walls of my classroom with colorful, motivational and inspirational posters. The walls were plain white and bare, they lacked character, and did not seem at all inviting. New bulletin board paper and borders now highlight student work. My classroom is now a warm, welcoming environment conducive to learning.

Students were excited to help me laminate and display posters. They are very proud to sit in a colorful classroom that is not so "boring" anymore! Furthermore, having markers and dry-erase markers readily available is something they are grateful for since they were much-needed supplies.

On behalf of my students and I, we sincerely appreciate your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gutierrez

  • Real Story for Real Students

    Funded Apr 1, 2009

Thank you so much for your kind donations. Words cannot express my gratitude. People like you that believe in the power of education not only help keep my dream and passion alive, but also have a tremendous affect on motivating student learning. Knowing that complete strangers are willing to reach into their own pocket books for the sake of their education inspires them to pursue higher learning and aspire to be successful in their future endeavors.

My students wanted real life accounts of teenage drug use and challenged me to find them a book to prove the grim reality. "Tweak" was an excellent choice! Not only has this book been a valuable lesson in class but it will serve as a valuable lesson in life that they will never forget. Already they have expressed gratitude and are eager to share the author's story with others.

    Again, thank you so much!

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gutierrez
