Since I have been at this school and part of the Girls Track and Field program, students have not been sufficiently prepared for competition because the majority of them cannot afford anything outside of the school issued uniforms. It is my hope that with these leggings, it will incite more buy-in into the program and it will encourage them to warm-up with the proper gear to best prepare them for competition. Additionally, I feel that with matching gear, it encourages team cohesiveness and contributes to a family-like atmosphere. Coming from successful Track and field programs on the high school and collegiate levels, something as simple as "tights" can make a world of difference for an impressionable athlete's competitive state. It is a worthwhile investment.
