  • Make, Cure, and Wash

    Funded Jan 25, 2023

The donation of a 3D printer to our school has been a game-changer for our students, unlocking opportunities for hands-on learning, creativity, and innovation. With this cutting-edge technology, students have been able to bring their ideas to life—designing and printing everything from prototypes for science projects to artistic models and engineering solutions. The 3D printer has not only enhanced our STEM curriculum but has also empowered students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and develop skills that will prepare them for the careers of tomorrow. This incredible resource has sparked excitement across all grade levels, fostering collaboration, curiosity, and confidence. Thank you for giving our students the tools to dream big and achieve even bigger!”

  • Solar Explorations

    Funded Oct 6, 2022

Your generous contributions to Solar Exploration's project have made a transformative impact on our students' education and curiosity about science. With your support, we've been able to provide state-of-the-art tools, such as solar observation kits, hands-on STEM resources, and educational materials, that bring the wonders of our solar system into the classroom. These resources have enabled students to investigate solar phenomena, like sunspots and solar flares, sparking awe and inspiring many to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By making these real-world connections to space exploration, you have helped foster critical thinking, collaboration, and innovation skills that will empower our students for years to come.

Beyond the immediate learning opportunities, your donations have left a lasting legacy in our school community by making science accessible and exciting for every student. By equipping our classrooms with these vital tools, you have given young learners the confidence to dream big and engage deeply with the mysteries of the universe. For many of our students, this was their first hands-on experience exploring the cosmos—an experience that will ignite a lifelong passion for discovery. On behalf of our students, teachers, and families, thank you for being a champion of education and an invaluable partner in expanding horizons and building futures.”

  • Putting the Art in STEM

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for your donation to the mini STEAM lab. Scholars have been able to use art and design to create t-shirts, tote bags and to manipulate 3D designs. Seeing the materials and knowing that the materials were specifically for them to create unique and one of a kind designs floored scholars. Eventually they became comfortable with the idea of STEAM and asked to use the materials at will. Our future steps include using our 3D printer to create prototypes prior to the start of projects and experiments.”

  • Online Learning Accommodations

    Funded Nov 13, 2020

Thank you so much for helping my scholars have what they need to make it during our online learning sessions. The materials were such a big help. One specific activity was the creation of a STEM project where scholars created a product that used the principles of magnetism. The scholars created magnetic wig prototypes to be used for people who have suffered hair loss due to illness with specific attention paid to young children who have survived cancer.

The scholars were very excited to see the materials. They immediately began asking if they could begin plotting out their designs. The materials managed to spread through all of my classes. Most of my classes were virtual. Those who needed to come to school to receive items did so.

This will be a project that I continue this year. We will take the projects that last years scholars created and enhance them by using the engineering design process.

Thank you for your donation-Be Well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lomax

  • Paging All Future Doctors!

    Funded Aug 14, 2019

Lab coats, stethoscopes, pH paper and smiles. My scholars and I are over the moon with excitement about our new lab gear. We were limited in the types of experiments that we could do because we did not have adequate equipment. With your donation we have been able to explore science well equipped.

The lab coats by far were the biggest hit. Scholars were extremely pleased to have their own lab coats while investigating new phenomena.

The next steps in our classroom is to learn how to take blood pressure, CPR Training along with dissection of a sheep eye-to explore how the eye perceives and uses light. We are going to need the communities help in this next endeavor. Until then we are delighted and appreciative of all the donations that have come our way.”

  • Atoms and the Periodic Table Exploration

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

Thank you so very much for your generous donation. The school year is in full swing and the scholars are continuously working towards mastering the content. The new resources included periodic table place mats, atom building kits as well as markers, colored pencils and school supplies.

As a class we have used the resources to reteach lessons about atoms and the periodic table. Scholars work in groups to identify trends in the periodic table as well as how nuclear fission and fusion work.

When the scholars received and helped me unpack the materials they were extremely pleased. Before receiving the supplies we were using my old organic chemistry atoms kit to build atoms. The new crayons, markers and colored pencils also provided them with the tools needed to color code the periodic table in an effort to learn the similarities among the periods and groups of the periodic table.

Currently we are working on understanding the difference between energy, temperature, heat and thermal energy transfer. We are to a point in our class that we are trying to increase the number of hands on labs and manipulates in order to fully understand the contents. Thank you so much for your donations and generosity.”

  • Snacks: Fuel for Studying!

    Funded Dec 17, 2016

Thank you all so much for donating to help us have fun and healthy snacks for our class. We work really hard and we dedicate ourselves to being better students. It is Awesome to have people donate snacks to us.

Every Tuesday we come after school or before school for Tutorial with Mrs. Lomax. We are always hungry. Normally we get snacks from the vending machine or we share with our classmates. It was good to be able to come into class and Mrs. Lomax allowed us to choose what we wanted. She had all of our favorites including candy.

We are very grateful for your contribution and you all thinking of us. Thank you Again and Again!”

  • Technology for Our STEM

    Funded Oct 13, 2015

Thank you so very much for your generous donation of 3 ipad minis for my classroom. My students are Science Technology Engineering and Math Students (STEM). The are required to use the engineering design process to create 6 mini projects throughout the year and 1 major product as a final project and grade. Technology for my students at this beginning state is used to help with research. Prototypes and models are drawn and illustrated using technology.

Prior to receiving the ipads students would have to go to our schools media center and look up designs, try to sketch or write down their research finds, and then convey their findings with their team mates. Now with the use of the ipads they are able to research at their stations with out the back and fourth. There is no loss in translation moments because the research and technology is readily available.

I have also used the technology with different aps with my English as a second language learners. they are able to look up unfamiliar words and have hands on experience with technology that they don't have in their homes.

Your donation is going to great use. Thank you for your belief in my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lomax

My students are very witty and enthusiastic. We talk about how they can become whoever they want to be, because they are capable! The make up of my school is very diverse. We are located in Atlanta Georgia, where the diversity is amazing. These scholars bring a variety of knowledge from their individual cultures. We use food and cooking to connect cultures as well as science content. Food is our safe zone where we do not judge, it just simply allows ourselves to learn about science and each other.
