Help!! We Need Books For Our Classroom Library
Funded Apr 11, 2011My students and I were absolutely thrilled when we received the boxes of books and book bins made possible by your generous donations. We sorted the books, put labels on the front of the book bins and organized our classroom library. After that, the kids were so excited to add some of the new books to their individual book boxes.
Each time we have reading time to ourselves or with a partner, we are reminded of how lucky we are to have gotten this special "care package" from people who are concerned about our learning. The kids are amazed that people we don't even know donated such awesome books for us to become better readers.
We cannot thank you enough for contributing to our project. You have made a huge difference in the lives of my students. Thank you! Thank you!”

Funded Jun 19, 2009I cannot thank you enough for funding my project. Your generosity has been very beneficial to my class. My students have been having a blast with our sand and water table. They are using their imaginations to build roads and tunnels and using our various construction trucks to build little towns. It has been great for social interaction.
We have also been using the table to reinforce letter and number identifications skills. The kids have been fishing for magnetic letters and digging for buried number treasures.
Next month, I plan to put water in the table so that we can do a sink/ float science investigation.
We love our sand and water table!! Thanks again!”

Kindergarten Scientists Explore Our World
Funded Jan 21, 2009My students really love all of the science games and activities that your donation money purchased for us. When I told them that some nice people donated these games for us, they said, "They must be some really nice people!" I agree!
We have been using the games during learning center time. The kids have been having a blast sorting garbage into the correct bins with the "Learn to Recycle Game". It has been perfect for our discussion of Earth Day and keeping our Earth clean and green. Another favorite is the "Feel and Find" bingo game. It's fun to touch and name all of the textures. Finally, the "5 Senses Learning Center" has been great any time the kids have brought in interesting things to share. We get out the magnifying glass and check it out. The kids really enjoy the smell and touch section of the center as well.
My class and I cannot thank you enough for providing some new and exciting ways to learn about the world around us. I think it is awesome that so many people are willing to donate their hard earned money to support the education of our children. It means a lot to us!”

Kindergarten Math Magicians
Funded Jan 31, 2009My students have truly enjoyed using the math games that we received through your generous donations. They were so excited when I told them that some nice people who did not even know us, bought some new games for us. One of the kids said, "I love those people!"
The games worked perfectly to reinforce some of the concepts that we have been working on this year. We worked in small groups and then rotated to each game. The elephant game helped us to practice recognizing numbers to 20 and matching numbers to sets. The shape finders were great for reviewing shape names. The horse racing game was a big hit! The kids had so much fun comparing numbers with that game that they asked to play over and over.
I cannot thank you enough for providing my students with some fun and motivating ways to practice math skills. They were all very beneficial to the kids' learning.”
