Keeping Our Germs to Ourselves & Having Fun With Pete
Funded Aug 21, 2020Thank you so much for funding our project. We have certainly been putting our new automatic hand santizier to good use this school year. It is so much easier for my kindergarten kiddos to use than the pump dispensers. We are also enjoying the Pete the Cat books and wooden puzzles that correlate with the different themes we are learning about in the Magic Tree House books. They make each week a little more fun!
Our "First Day of Kindergarten" sign was such a cute addition to our first day of school pictures. The parents loved them. They added just the right touch.
We cannot thank you enough for your generosity!”

All Hands on Art!
Funded May 4, 2020Thank you so much for donating to our "All Hands On Art" project. My students have been busy creating amazing things with these materials. The individually wrapped play dough has been a life saver for me, since keeping things separate is a necessity during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now each of my students has their own labeled baggie that belongs to just them. The alphabet and number dough stampers and alphabet dough mats have been great for my students to take turns using for some fun letter and number recognition practice. I am planning to give each student a small baggie of kinetic sand to use in the same way to change things up during the next few months.
We have been using the craft sticks and puffy stems for stick puppets and other storytelling props that go along with the various themes we do throughout the year.
The collage picture frames will be used to make gifts for Christmas or Mother's Day!
My students are truly excited when they are given these materials to use. Thank you again for inspiring creativity in my students. I couldn't have done it without you!”

The “Write” Stuff
Funded Oct 24, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation to our project. My students have already been using the write and wipe boards and erasers several times each day. The boards are nice and sturdy and erase very nicely with the little erasers we received. I am confident that they will hold up nicely for several years to come for our graphics practice and shared writing activities.
We have been using our new backpacks as part of our literacy center time. They work great as props during our group dramatization of The Magic Treehouse Books. Jack always carries his notebook and pencil in a backpack. Now we can too!
We are so thankful that there are such caring people in the world, who are wililng to support our learning. Thanks again!”

Funded Mar 28, 2019We cannot thank you enough for your generous donations to our "Ears to Active Listening" project. The same day we received our new headphones, we began using them in our listening center. The kids were ecstatic to be able to hear the story loud and clear in both ears. The headphones are the perfect size for their heads. We just love them.
We also love the new books with CDs that we received through your generosity. Ferdinand, The Three Little Pigs and The Three Billy Goats Gruff have become some of our favorites already. We cannot wait to listen to the others.”

A Place to Listen and Learn
Funded Aug 13, 2019I cannot thank you enough for your donations to our "A Place to Listen and Learn" project. We absolutely love our amazing new listening center, easy to use CD player, and 8 station junction box. These items work together perfectly to make a fun and engaging literacy listening center, which is one of my student's favorite areas. The kids listen to a story, then complete a specific task to go along with one of our comprehension strategies, such as story sequencing, character empathy, story comparison, etc.
The junction box will make it possible for 6-8 of my students to listen to a story at the same time. The CD player will be so easy for my 5 year olds to use independently and the wooden listening storage box will keep everything so nicely organized including the books, CDS, and headphones. Thanks again!”

Funded Feb 14, 2019My students and I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful math materials that we received through your generous donation to our project. We have been using and enjoying them ever since the day we opened the boxes during our math center time. The tangrams with colorful puzzles cards have been a big hit in the puzzle center. My students are already becoming experts at figuring out the cards with no lines. What a great way to teach problem solving skills. The sorting bears and bugs games have been a fun addition to our counting center. The geoboards have been very well received at the geometry center for creating shapes and designs and the unifix cubes have been very useful in many of our centers for all sorts of different counting and measuring games.
All in all, your donation has made our math centers much more engaging and fun, while providing lots of practice for the critical math skills that are necessary for early number development. Thanks again!”

Funded May 7, 2018My kindergarten students were so excited to receive the wooden play sink and cupboard with microwave, which we added to our housekeeping area after our janitor so kindly assembled them for us. The kids got right to work washing dishes and putting them away in the cupboard. These pieces were a great addition to the stove and refrigerator that we already received from other generous donors. They have been busy bees setting the table, making food in the microwave, washing the dishes and putting them away over and over again. What great practice for them to become helpers at home, as well as, future moms and dads. It is adorable to watch them assign roles and pretend to be families. Thank you so much! Your generosity means so much to my students and me.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018We were so excited to receive the height extension kit for our classroom loft. Now, our loft is tall enough so that my kindergarten students are able to stand under it. This area has become our housekeeping center, which is filled with wooden appliances so that my students can pretend to cook in the microwave and stove, wash the dishes and put them away in the play cupboard. Before, the kids had to crawl under the loft and it couldn't be used for a play kitchen.
The upper part of our loft has become the bedroom for our house. We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in making our loft more user friendly. It is definitely a favorite area for my kids to play. We LOVE it!”

Funded Jan 25, 2018We cannot thank you enough for your donation to our "Meeting Our Loft-y Goals in Kindergarten" project. When the boxes arrived and kept coming and coming, we were so excited. We had to wait a bit for our janitor to have the time to build the loft for us, but it was so worth the wait. We even got out our play tools and construction hats to offer our help.
We have plans to turn it into an underwater oasis to coincide with our ocean unit as soon as it is completed. We feel so blessed that you chose our classroom to donate to. Thanks again!”

Funded Feb 2, 2018Thank you again for your generous donation to our "Keeping Organized in Kindergarten" project. We now have a wonderful metal cabinet to store all of our books, learning games, and classroom supplies. We just love the red color. It really brightens up our room. We, also, love our new storage caddies. scissors, magnets, and velcro. Now, we can put all of our scissors, crayons, markers, pencils, papers, etc. in the middle of each of our tables to share. It makes it easy to find and put away all of our materials at the end of the day. The magnetic dots and Velcro have been very useful for displaying artwork around our classroom. We are SO lucky that you chose to donate to us!!”
