  • Growing in Kinder

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your donation. My kindergarteners were ecstatic when they saw all the donated materials. They were especially excited about the paint! As a holiday/Thanksgiving project we used paint and paintbrushes to make turkey hands. These projects were gifted to their families. My students had a great time using paint and mixing colors to create their own artwork. With the holiday season here we plan to use the paint again to paint ornaments that the students can then gift to their families!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aquino

  • Mrs. Aquino's Fourth Graders!

    Funded Jan 2, 2019

My students and I want to thank everyone who has contributed to our class project. We are all beyond excited that you have helped make our educational experience much more memorable. Your donations will be put to good use! The students were beyond excited to have an electric classroom sharpener and started to use it right away! My co-teacher and I are excited to play multiplication bingo with our students to help improve their fluency. Workbooks will be put into great use as students will use them for at home practice. Happy New Year from Class 403!”

  • Talented in Third!

    Funded Dec 9, 2016

Here is an update on your generous donation. My students were beyond excited when their cushions and privacy partitions arrived. They couldn't wait for me to open the box so they could claim their materials. It was so great to see my third graders genuinely happy about their new materials.

As soon as my students received their seat cushions, they put in on their seat. You heard a lot of "oohs & ahhhs". These soft cushions were like heaven to them. When students saw their privacy boards, they were so excited to try it out they wanted to take a test!

Once again many thanks from my students and I!”

  • Fun in First!

    Funded Jan 20, 2016

Here is an update on your generous donation and how my students are using their new materials. My students were jumping with excitement when their book baggies and seat sacks arrived. They wanted to dive right in and claim their materials. It was so exciting to see my first graders genuinely happy about their new materials.

As soon as my students received their book baggies, they threw out their worn on Ziploc baggies (which held their independent reading books) and transferred their books into their new book baggies. These book baggies are used on a daily basis both in class and at home. There is not day that goes by that I don't see book baggies out on their desks and my students reading. When students received their seat sacks they immediately began organizing their desks and placing their learning materials into their sacks to allow for more room in their desks.

Once again many thanks from my students and I!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aquino

I teach at a Title I public school in Brooklyn. My school is a place where children are encouraged to be themselves while learning to value their education. Students are encouraged to question the world around them and encouraged to think outside the box. In my school, in my classroom, students are pushed to try their hardest while being able to grow and develop based on their needs. My students work hard each and every single day to combat any personal struggles that they may be facing. My first graders strive for their personal best whether they are working on math problems, trying to progress to the next reading level, or becoming authors during writing workshop. My students try their very best and deserve the very best education has to offer. I believe in my students and most importantly they believe in themselves.
