My school is in a low socioeconomic area. Seventy-five to eighty-five percent of our students receive free and reduced-price lunch. Many of my students do not have access to the Internet at home and have no way of researching the content we are learning about. They often do not have the ability to buy the materials needed for science labs and projects. The school I work at is supportive of science and engineering. However, like all schools in California, we lack funding for materials. Our administration is very supportive of new ideas and ways to enhance science education.
