Most of the students in the school that I work with come from low-income homes and are part of the free lunch/breakfast program. Each year we struggle to provide them with even the most basic materials like pencils and paper because of the large population of our school and since most of their parents are not able to provide these things, the responsibility unfortunately falls on the teachers.
