  • PSA! Storybook Adventures!

    Funded Feb 16, 2025

I am over the moon with happiness for your generous donation to fund my literacy project. (Storybook Adventures!)

As we go forward in introducing and implementing Heggerty in our pre-k classrooms, it is wonderful to witness the growth, and the ability of our students to begin reading as we prepare and transition them to kindergarten.

We are grateful and can’t wait to delve in and continue the learning process.”

    With gratitude,

    Dr. Tracy Y. Phillips

  • Pre-K, Let's Spring Into Cleanliness!

    Funded Oct 31, 2024

We want to thank you for your generous donations for our students to "Spring into Cleaning". This project was a testament to the fun and relations of using resources to explain the concept of germs and how it can make them sick with the "invisible bugs".

It also helped with visuals, demonstrating proper hand-washing techniques that are age-appropriate for cleaning tasks and consistently reinforcing the ideas and ways to stay healthy with appropriate hygiene practices.

This is a great start at exposing students to methods and everyday occurrences and the responsibilities of taking care of their hygiene. Exposure is key!”

    With gratitude,

I can’t wait to see the increase in their motivation to learn and their comprehension using literacy. “We Can Do All Things!” Read, Develop, Express, and Comprehend is one of the many books we will delve into for the‘fundamentals of reading.””

  • Young Minds With Bright, Colorful Experiences Through Art

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

First, let me apologize for my late post. I won't bore you with the detail. However, I would like to say how grateful my students and I are to have such support which have us the ability to make their art come alive. Every day, the students are showing their creativity in ways to express themselves with color and style. As I explain to them how we acquired the paint, brushes, and other items, they were excited to show you how they engage in the classroom. It is also exciting to see a few children gravitating to the art easel to paint who don't normally show interest. This experience you have provided our students is gratifying and a joy to watch.”

  • Phonemic Awareness at Your Doorstep!

    Funded Oct 17, 2022

The students are enjoying the funded gifts so much that they were delighted to come together to write thank you notes. As you can see they are sitting in the floor using the tools you've provided (their abc phone's that are used to emulate the sounds, their writing pad to practice writing over and over again, and the stand where we could hang our mighty minute boards as well as moving it around the classroom when needed). In our Pre-K classroom, we set the foundation for our students to move on to kindergarten and persevere through life. We could not be more happier and grateful for your generous gifts, which allows them to soar and elevate to newer levels every day. The student and teachers(myself) thank you again🙏🏽”

    We surely appreciate you all!”

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you so much for funding our project, we are extremely grateful for your generosity. This will allow my students to work and function in a cleaner environment with the tools you've provided. As we find ways to inspire our students with new found knowledge, the excitement and participation is evident. • A Better and Moving View of Literacy

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

The students were excited and able to store their belongings in the clear view bins keeping their things nice and tidy; the adjustable chart stand is utilized by allowing the children to engage writings, rhyming words, fill in the space with the Mighty Minute boards; the mobile chart stand can be moved around the various centers for the question of the day, and word wall. The daily attendance cards are used for the students checking in and out, also, daily duties. The beauty of the donated items is they will be utilized for the next school year.”

  • Pre-K Scientists in the Making

    Funded Sep 1, 2021

The resources that you've enabled my students to have access to have been remarkable. They love the science center because like other centers (block, home living, art, manipulative, music, literacy, etc.)within the classroom, it allows them to explore the world around them. Measuring, using the colored tubes gave them explore colors using test tubes. The material also encourage and teaches children how to discover and wonder about everything in the world around them. My new students are reaping the benefits this year. They have experienced the Kool-aid experiment, and the density experiment which let kids see which liquids or substances are more dense than others.”

I teach Pre-K at a Title I school. I'm always looking for ways to get my students excited about learning. It is thought that science is above the heads of our pre-k children, but this thought process is wrong. Some of the best pre-school activities are science-related. Preschool-age children are inquisitive and open-minded, so these activities are perfect for a young curious scientist. My kids are more than interested in exploring bugs, and so forth. Some of the activities that we plan to do inside of the classroom are making discovery tubes, lemon volcanoes, milk painting, and rainbow wizards brew, etc.
