Funded Oct 15, 2013Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. I only wish you could have seen the genuine smiles on the students faces the day the package arrived and I opened it with them. It was truly priceless. They couldn't believe that strangers could care enough to donate money/books to them. They were even more excited when they realized the books were from two of their new favorite series. We had just finished reading the first book in the Hank Zipzer series and they couldn't wait to read another. With your donation, their wishes came true.
We have set up a system in the classroom where they can borrow the books and read in pairs. They lined up immediately to be the first to choose their book. It was such a pleasure to see my fourth graders so excited over books and reading. That was the goal, and together we reached it!”

Fun to Learn
Funded Dec 24, 2012I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for your generous donations. My students attend a special education Kindergarten class in an elementary school in a high needs area. This is only the second year that the school has a Kindergarten class. Each of my students has a unique learning style and your donations provided materials to support them. Without your donations these students would not have access to materials like this.
The materials that we received are used almost everyday. We use the word puzzles to help us read and spell words. We use the counters and math cards to practice our addition and subtraction skills. We also practice counting with 1:1 correspondence. The foam pieces and puzzles are so much fun to manipulate. They make learning so much more fun that typical paper and pencil tasks.”

All Hands On
Funded Oct 11, 2012My students and I would like to thank you for your generosity and for caring about our class. The materials that were donated to our classroom as a result of your donations have had a tremendous impact on the learning environment. We are able to explore the alphabet with hands on activities that appeal to our senses. We are also able to practice our math and counting skills with more hands on activities that help to make the learning more meaningful.
Our school is suffering as a result of budget cuts and because of your donations our class was able to obtain much needed materials.
Thanks you again for making a difference in our lives.”

Smartgames, Smartkids, Smartboard
Funded Feb 18, 2012This letter is to acknowledge your kindness and thank you for your generous donations. My students were able to get ready for the state tests in an engaging, fun, academic way because of you. We used the Smartboard CD's everyday as we got ready to take the New York State ELA and Math exams. The information on the CD's taught and reviewed valuable test taking strategies and provided engaging examples for us to practice. We looked forward to "test prep" because of you and your donation of test taking strategies and games CD's. Thank you again for your donation of these vital resources.”

Funded Dec 28, 2010I can only begin to express my excitement and thanks for your donation to my project. Your kindness is greatly appreciated by myself as well as my students. Literacy is the key to education and the materials that you have funded have started to encourage and motivate my students already and has encouraged appropriate peer interactions as well. These materials have give my students a different way to learn, reinforce, and perfect the necessary skills they need to be successful readers. They are so excited to use these materials each day during our literacy centers. Each morning the first question out of their mouths is, "when is literacy? can we play our new games?" It is delightful to see my students so excited about learning and literacy. I feel lucky to have such generous people fund a project that has truly changed my students and their outlook on literacy and learning. You have given my students games with a purpose and a step in their journey to future success! Thank you so much! ”

Funded Feb 8, 2010We want to thank you again for donating to this project. The students have absolutely been enjoying their new listening center. It is wonderful to see the enjoyment as they read and listen to the fairy tales. It is because of your generosity that all of the children in this class are able to enjoy the same fairy tales regardless of their reading levels. They are able to talk to their friends and classmates about the stories and share in the excitement. Our fairy tale unit has been a success because of your caring and generosity! Thank you!”
