My project will be divided in two main parts. From September to December, my students will be using some these project materials, the Estes designer special kit, to design and build preliminary rocket projects to test variables that may affect flight height, speed, and stability, keeping in mind they have to maintain under control all other variables. To find the most efficient design, they are going to use the altimeters, another project request, to accurately and precisely measure the height rockets with different body designs fly. In order to build rockets with different body designs, they need a variety of body parts like, balsa wood to make fins with different shapes, assorted nose cones, and different length body tubes, all part of the designer's kit I am requesting. They need to have a library of reference books to support their research. In January, they will put together all the collected data into an acceptable format to show their project results in the district's science fair. Also, for public events, like the science fairs and rocket launch day, they all will dress in the same type t-shirts with the school's logo and the students' name; for this, the iron transfers will be used to print their t-shirts Soon after the fair, the students will extend their research and will build a model rocket they will fly in the school's annual rocket launch in the presence of parents, teachers, students and administrative district staff.
