  • Real Life Math!

    Funded Dec 18, 2017

Your donation came just in time. Thank you for your contribution to our class. We are starting our geometry unit tomorrow and students have been excited to get their hands on the camera since it came it. 7th grade math is my favorite subject to teach because of how realistic it is. With the camera, geometry, which is so often an abstract subject, comes alive. I am truly grateful for this and all of the other classroom materials you have provided. Pencils are a classroom necessity and kids go through them like magic. Thank you for your support and for being a champion of kids.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. P.

  • Grade Level Math

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you for supporting my class. This year donorschoose has been beyond instrumental in making my classroom run effectively. As we’re entering into test mode prep season I’m excited that I can still met the needs of my students are fall well below the grade level and simply can not master the content needed for testing.

    Thank you”

  • Fun with Flag Football!

    Funded Feb 24, 2018

This is probably the most exciting donorschoose I've done to date. I think more than ever before, kids are excited about your support and belief in their future. Flag football equipment is so important for the actual practice of the sport and the morale of the students on and off of the team. We have our first flag football tournament coming up on Friday and kids are beyond excited. Our Flag Football coach and athletic director is deeply grateful for your contribution to the school. Students can actually practice.

Thank you for all you do!”

  • Math Class Basics

    Funded Feb 6, 2018

Thank you for supporting my students. Our calculators were beaten down and broken. They were missing keys and barely working. A new class set of calculators showed the kids that their education matters and that someone thinks it is important to have fully functional technology in the classroom. The calculators have also been used for exactly what they're intended to do, complete math. The pencils you have provided have been extremely useful because I'm able to provide pencils to my students again! Lastly, I'm sure the students are most grateful for better classroom rewards then what I have been giving them.

    Thank you for your support!”

  • Must Have Math Manipulatives!

    Funded Nov 22, 2016

Thank you for your support of my students in our classroom! Teaching math in a resource setting has it's daily challenges. Meeting the needs of all of my students has been quite a challenge this year, our class operates 2-5 years below grade level, but still need to access seventh grade material. With your help, our new math "toys" have made a tremendous difference in their understanding and ability to conceptualize many abstract math practices.

Our most recent unit was probability. With the spinners and dice, we were able to tackle it hands-on with a number of engaging activities. Our class is filled with attention deficits and being able to spin, toss, and roll these made math so much more exciting! During our test prep, we will be using the scale to review 2-step equations, so they have a better understanding of balancing equations.

Thank you again for being a champion and cheerleaders for our class. We wouldn't be able to do it without your support.”

  • Headphones, Pencils, and a Little Color!

    Funded Nov 2, 2017

Thank you for supporting our classroom. We are all so grateful for this package! My students fall way below grade level, and struggle with reading. Since your donation, we have been able to listen to tests and texts inside of the classroom. Normally, students have me read text aloud in class and during tests, but now they are able to complete work without depending on me.

Pencils as always is a classroom must. My classroom goes through 10 pencils a day every single day. Because of your support we don't have to spend the first 10 minutes of class searching for pencils.

    Thanks for everything!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. P.

  • Getting Interactive in Math

    Funded Nov 1, 2017

I am so grateful for your support of my scholars and my classroom. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you for standing with children and being champion's of schools. Since your donation my students have been able to receive their read aloud accommodation in all of their classes. As a special education teacher, I am responsible for reading text aloud in class and during tests, but because I am only one person I can not be everywhere all of the time. I am so thankful that students now can travel class to class and independently complete work without me.

When we received the items, it was as though "Christmas came early to Parkfield (the name of our classroom.)" Students were excited to have new pencils and headphones. They were even more excited to have mini bike pedals to help get their energy out. Kids that typically like to pace, enjoy staying in their seats and moving their legs.

    Thanks again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. P.

  • Pencils, Rewards, and Curriculum!

    Funded Nov 3, 2017

Thank you for supporting my classroom and our future! We appreciate your thought and care. Since your donation, we have been able to move through class without the constant hunt and search for pencils. As small as the item might be it makes a huge difference in a math classroom.

Working in a resource setting, my students tend to be more extrinsically motivated then intrinsic. The snacks, mechanical pencils, and other rewards have been monumental in pushing my classroom reward system along. Students have so many options on what they would like to earn in a focused class. We are truly grateful.

Lastly, and certainly not least, I would like to thank you for providing a 2nd grade curriculum for one my scholars that falls well below grade level. With the textbook, she has material that caters directly to her needs and her level.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Claiming Our History Through a Civil Rights Tour

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thank you for supporting our annual classroom trip! This is the 4th year many students have been able to leave New Orleans and explore new cities and engage in their history. As each year passes, our school loses more and more funding. It is incredible that we were able to relieve some of the costs simply through feeding the students. Thank you for being our classroom champion. These snacks provide a great variety to what students are able to eat. Having a variety of healthy snacks will help to keep students awake and interested as we move to different sites!

    Thanks as always!”

  • Headphones for a Headstart

    Funded Oct 24, 2016

Word can't express how to appreciative I am about your donation and having a classroom set of headphones. Our school is lucky enough to have started a 1-1 technology initiative for students. However, often times the programs we use in the classroom require sound and students to work at a different pace. Without headphones, many students have been unable to take advantage and utilize the technology because of the lack of headphones. They are stuck in classrooms doing paper activities, instead of using computers.

Students thank me on the day to day basis for allowing them to borrow headphones, when they really mean to thank you. Thank you for making this possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. P.
