  • Clean and Organized Oh My!

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

At the start of school, my students struggled to keep their materials organized so we were thrilled when generous donors supported this project. Because of your donations, we now have colored coded caddies and matching paper trays to store materials that are needed for activities and a place to put materials when not in use. the caddies are sturdy and each one has a paper bin so there are no delays when a pencil is needed, white boards and dry erase markers and erasers, or even worksheets and graphic organizers.

Another part of the project was materials to clean up minor cuts and scrapes. Our trips to the nurse for band-aids have diminished now that we have our own first aid kit.

    Thanks so much!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilson

  • Hearing is Caring!

    Funded Aug 26, 2023

Thank you donors so very much for funding this project for individual headphones for every scholar in my class. Sometimes, children need to be able to focus on adaptive online learning lessons, having headphones that work are essential to being able to hear their own lesson. In addition, individual headphones provide a quiet class for those who not are working on an online lesson at the same time.

Students use their headphones in other classes as well. If specialist teachers have videos to support their learning, or online assessments with audio, each student can hear their own directions. Another benefit is the support that is needed for struggling students and English language learners; they are able to review lessons and translate material to support their learning.”

  • The Basic Tools for School

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for helping to fund this project. My students were surprised and excited to see all the materials for them to use in school each day.

Our class materials for each student are organized with colored folders for each scholar. In addition, we use dry erase markers and the dry erase erasers every day to capture our quick thinking ideas, for responses during our Social Emotional Learning lessons, to work out math problems, to jot down writing ideas and even create graphic organizers as a response to our shared reading. Other materials that are our go to are the many colorful sticky notes used to create graphs, answer surveys, take polls and so much more.

The materials requested in this project were much needed and we are so appreciative that donors like you are willing to donate to support public education.”

  • Start School with the Basics

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you Donors for helping to fund this project that provided my scholars with their basic school supplies. This project removed anxiety and concern for students and their families who may not be able to purchase all the materials their children needed.

The supplies were unpacked and put to use at once. Every scholar has a sturdy folder to place homework sheets and any communications (permission slips, notices, etc.) that need to be sent home to guardians.

In addition to the homework and communications folders, every scholar (thanks to you donors) received a pencil pouch with pencils, eraser, and tissues. All materials are labeled with an Avery label so items are not mixed up.

It is a great feeling for each learner to have the materials they need for a successful start to the school year!!”

  • Hear It, Create It, Print It

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so very much for funding this project! Upon delivery, my students could not understand how valuable a printer would be to our classroom. They were used to me providing all the printed materials and they were in the role of consumer. Well, the printer helped to flip the role at times. Now, the scholars could be the producers. They enjoyed creating assessments for their fellow classmate on a given topic (formative assessment for the teacher); they were able to more immediately print projects to share and hang in the hallways; and last, the printer eliminated the inconvenience when school printer was jammed, out of ink, or not connecting to the network. Thank you again!!”

  • Science Of Reading Start Up Materials

    Funded Dec 7, 2022

Thank you so much for funding my project!! My students meet each classroom delivery with screams of excitement and curious eyes. As I opened the box it was not clear to them how we would use these materials but they quickly became infused into our daily routines.

The Sound Wall Cards provided students with a reference to more easily match sounds heard with what letter or letters could be used for the sounds. It also helped the teacher too. The cards worked well with the Elkonin Dry Erase Board. Students determined the spelling and used the board to write the words. This increased their confidence, motivation, and success rate. These items are used daily and will continue to be part of my literacy practice.”

  • Bring on the Basic Supplies!!

    Funded Jul 30, 2022

Thank you so very much for funding a project that is needed to support teacher and students. The basic supplies requested in this project relieved so much stress and anxiety from the teacher and the learners. Your generosity provided what each scholar in my class needed to begin the school year in a positive way. We use and have used the materials each and every day.

Students were so pleasantly surprised to each receive their own pencil case with the contents of pencils, cap erasers, sharpener, tissue packs and dry erase marker. These supplies are used to complete assignments all throughout the day. The double sided dry erase clipboards have been a new tool used so many different ways: as a clipboard when reading articles and doing annotations, as a way to write responses to reading, math questions, and for students surveys and questions.”

  • STEM Journals and Supplies

    Funded Jul 14, 2022

Amazing is the word that comes to mind! The donors that help fund projects to bring materials to scholars are amazing and the looks on students' faces when they see a box arrive for them with the resources we so desperately need. We are so very grateful!

STEM and science notebooks provided in this projects have students feeling like and acting like scientists and engineers. They are eager to record their notes in their science journal so that they can later explain their findings and share what they have learned. I love the expressions on their faces when they discover and understand the parts of exploration and the scientific methods that lead to discovery. We used the paint as a fun way to document the changes that happen during the fall season and explore colors and chromatography - this went well with a text we were reading. Last, the flashlights are needed for exploration with light and energy and an added bonus for Flashlight Fridays where they can read in their forts.”

  • Learn to Code with Sphero

    Funded Jun 24, 2022

Thank you so much for funding this project. I had hoped I would be able to bring more STEM activities to my young students and you donors made that happen.

We love the Sphero! Students were introduced as a whole group; however, they explore and code as individuals, with partners, and in small groups. There was such excitement when we began that some students asked if I could tell their parents what it was so they can get this item at home.

Students are allowed to explore and code during math and science exploration times. And one added but unexpected benefit has been that students can also use Sphero during indoor recess days and during our Robotics Team Club meetings. Sphero has peaked students' interest in STEM, coding, robotics and more!”

  • Mastering Math With Manipulatives!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Wow! What a difference materials make for students! Thank you to all who donated to help fulfill the funding for this project. It has made a very positive impact on my classroom and with my students and the learning that happens each day.

Some math topics are very abstract and difficult for young learners to comprehend. The manipulatives in this project bring the abstract to life and make it more concrete. We use them everyday. While doing fractions, the fraction tiles provide a visual of what the fractions look like and what they mean. The tens frame is used daily to help strengthen our commitment that all students will know their tens-facts this year. And the dice that are clear with another dice inside provide lots of rolling fun as we add, subtract and multiply.”

My students are spectacular given some of the challenges they face. They are living in an impoverished area and many are living in single parent households or under the care of a guardian other than their biological parents. Our district and school has undergone budget cuts and it can be difficult to find resources that allow our students to have the same advantages as students in other districts.
