  • Physical Education Equipment for all Grades

    I cannot express how appreciative I am of the gifts you have given our school community. Once received, we began playing with everyone immediately. The entire school community has been participating. From pre-K to 8th grade, including staff and parents, everyone has been increasingly participating in physical activities at my school, especially activities using the rubber chickens. I have had teachers go out and buy equipment simply because they've enjoyed it so much and want to participate with their students regularly. I have had parents compliment our program on getting their children more active then they've ever been. I can provide my school community with these opportunities because of the support you have provided.

    Many of my students recognized the beach balls as something we used last year, and when they found out the equipment was provided by people from ll over the country they didn't immediately react. However, once we began incorporating the balls in unexpected ways, my students became very aware that they loved the equipment and are very appreciative that they will have this equipment for years to come.

    My fitness unit will also be enhanced by the rubber chickens. I will be incorporating them into our aerobics lessons, and creating specific activities for my middle schoolers next year.

    With this equipment, I have been able to motivate a stronger school culture through play and fitness. I have had middle school students working with younger grades to foster stronger relationships and an underlying sense of interconnectedness amongst the entire student body. Middle school students know younger students by name and are constantly a great help in motivating desired behaviors because of the strong relationships formed through drum-fit.”

  • Healthy Rhythms At Hampden

    I cannot express how appreciative I am of the gifts you have given our school community. Once received, we began drumming immediately. The entire school community has been participating, including Pre-K to 8th grade students, staff and parents. I have had teachers go out and buy equipment simply because they've enjoyed it so much and want to participate at home. I have had parents compliment our program on getting their children more active then they've ever been. We have used the drumming equipment before school, during class, after school, and even on the weekends during special events. I can provide my school community with these opportunities because of the support you have provided.

    Many of my students recognized the large medicine balls as something we used last year, but did not initially understand that we did not get to keep them. They are very appreciative that they will have this equipment for years to come.

    I have been able to add many activities to my drum fit unit, but I have also been able to expand on my dance unit using the drumming equipment. My fitness unit will also be enhanced by the drumming equipment. I will be incorporating drum fit into our aerobics lessons, and creating specific drumming routine projects for my middle schoolers next year. I will also be beginning an adult drum-fit class for parents and staff neat year.

    This equipment has inspired a series of events and activities geared towards increasing a musical presence at my school. Through these activities, I have been able to motivate a stronger school culture through music and fitness.   • P.E Equipment to Get Kids Moving

    My school and I are so grateful to you for your contributions to this project. My students have come into the gym and said things like "We've never had stuff like this before," "This class is so much fun," and "Can we really use that...for this?" I get to be with my students almost everyday, and they appreciate what you have done for them so much. I receive a great deal of their gratitude, but I have to redirect it your way because my program would not be as successful as it is without your contribution. The basketballs, soccer balls, and volley balls have and will continue to be used to engage each student in so many activities. The cones help maintain organization and safe management of all students. The foam balls are a favorite amongst all groups, and the bowling pins have influenced many students to get involved in unconventional fitness activities. I am exposing my students to so many new activities and strengthening their understanding of activities they're familiar with. All in all, my program, my students, and my teaching ability are all thriving and improving because of you. So once again and with so much love, thank you.”

My students are from southeast Baltimore City and range from Kindergarten to 8th grade. They come from low income families with limited access to quality athletic programs and resources. This will be my first year with these students and I want to provide them with the most engaging program possible. They are eager to learn and would benefit from a more supplied program.
