  • Leadership Projects

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

The new resources were used for various candy grams at school and activities that brought joy. A specific moment that was very special was watching my leadership students put together these special treats and then PURCHASED ONE for a student with special needs who did not have money for the fundraiser. This all started with your kind donation and our students then wanting to pay it forward.

How did your students react when they first saw the materials?

When the students first saw the materials they were so relieved to know that they would be able to create activities for our school and not limited by the barrier of funding.

The next steps are to share this project with future leaders to inspire them to hold the same kind of programming to carry on the joy.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shields

  • Flexible Seating for Growing Middle Schoolers

    Funded Apr 29, 2024

Having new chairs in the spaces has opened up opportunity for us to rethink how we use spaces in the school as well. In this specific moment in the pictures the students came up with the idea to utilize additional flexible seating we were able to donate to the library. So in addition to our own classroom we have encouraged others to do the same

How did your students react when they first saw the materials? The students cant believe that their classroom gets to look the way it does. They were nervous to sit on it at first because they wanted to take care of their new items.

The next steps are to add furniture that is suitable for all students and do not limit others who may want to sit in various places. Many of our students also like to sit low to the ground. So we are brainstorming how to add in spaces that keep our students safe.”

  • Designs in Color

    Funded Dec 7, 2023

My students have appreciated. being. able to both develop and receive flyers in color. Not only this but their end of the year projects have been in color as well. We put the projects on display outside of my classroom door and the students have loved walking by them. They feel very prideful for what they were able to create from your donation. When students feel seen they produce better assignments and outcomes. So thank you for making our students and their projects seen. We now create design and print right in the classroom.”

  • So Fresh and So Clean

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

Thank you for donating to our project. Keeping our space clean and tidy is a priority for us. We have daily routines that help ensure we are keeping one another safe and healthy. Your donation ensures that. Every-time my students receive a box they get so excited. Ironically, when it is cleaning supplies they are most excited. We have specific jobs in the class and the students who get to wipe down the tables take their role with great pride and responsibility. Your donations reminds them about how much we care about their well being.”

  • Out With The Old In With the New

    Funded Sep 8, 2023

This project was a learning curve, in a great way! Alternate seating requires students to be very responsible in their seat choices and placements.

I was able to replace older seating arrangements with a more comfortable seating choice. The students loved having new places to sit and a choice between higher and lower seating options.

When my students saw the tables they were excited! They knew our classroom was extra special and they needed to take care of the items we received. I have seen students become more focused and proud to sit at the alternate seating options. Thank you for supporting us!”

  • More Reading!

    Funded Aug 9, 2023

The book shelf is overflowing! Thanks for adding the student's favorite series to the shelf. I have one student in particular who cruises through each book just to get to the next one. He always says how grateful he is for donors like you for letting him continue to read.

With the Front Desk series I have been able to teach students several skills with plot, self regulation skills, and social justice skills. They see themselves as the character in this series.

Your donation is shaping literacy in my students.”

  • Changin' It Up!

    Funded Jun 8, 2023

Woohooo!! Thanks for the cleaning supplies that keep my students and I healthy. They get so excited to get a shipment in because my table monitor gets to continue his job. Also, students feel great responsibility when they get to clean their spaces.

I am excited to use the color coding highlighters to enhance my students writing. We can improve our writing strategy CEAL with this donation.

The file organizer is going to house students writing portfolios. This means at any time they can access their writing and see their growth, share it with parents, and know where they left off.”

  • Graphic Novels Hooray!

    Funded Mar 31, 2023

I cannot keep these books on the shelf! My students love reading graphic novels and each week students are checking them out to read. Thank you for encouraging more joyful reading in the classroom. In addition the center holders for our table numbers has been a game changer. Students can use their table markers to identify partner responsibilities . This has helped students be more independent and assign responsibilities to one another. It has also helped me as a teacher to easily call on partners because I can visibly see the partners now that the center marker is standing up and not taped down!”

  • Out With The Old In With The New Classroom Design

    Funded Mar 10, 2023

Thank you for the plentiful items you have provided. This allowed me to introduce a variety of projects into the classroom. My students can now readily print their assignments and hang up ones they are proud of including feedback from me. I was able to complete the birthday wall and create goodie bags for the students. It includes the inspirational stickers that were donated, candies, pencils, and items from previous projects. This unlocks a new level of joy from students and pride in their learning process. Thank you for supporting me to make my classroom even more welcoming with each gift.”

  • Recycling & Sanitation

    Funded Mar 10, 2023

Your donation provided change school wide. In these photos you will see two different scenarios. The first photo represents part of my classroom. You can see students participating in a paper activity. Because of your donations we were able to file the paper from the plastics as you can see in the back of the photo. Additionally, because we did so many team building activities that day we also needed to santize. Your donation also provided that. Schoolwde, due to donations like this, we have a recycling initiative that gives right back to the community, just like the boxes you see in the second photo. The money we raised by recycling and holding classroom competitions allowed for us to feed over 25 families for the Thanksgiving holiday.”

Students feeling ownership of their own books and having consistency in a novel will not only create a strong interest for reading, but build reading comprehension which is holding a majority of our students back. When students build confidence in their fluency, their success trajectory is endless. My project will build literacy and imagination. Students need a novel that intrigues them that they cannot see to put down and I feel that Harry Potter does that. I read a chapter with my students now and every single face was into the book waiting to find out what was next. ..
