My students come from a low socio-economic background and a lot of them are at least two years below their proper reading level. From what I have been told, there are quite a few student that are homeless, raising younger siblings, and may not have food at home. With those challenges, it is very important that I create a motivating environment where my kids are excited to learn. I also understand that students may not be able to afford the materials necessary for them to be successful, so it is my goal to ensure that they are given everything that they need. In spite of all the challenges and struggles in my students lives, I still want them to know that they are capable of achieving anything and that there are people that are rooting for them to succeed. I think that my support, the support of my school staff, and the support of DonorsChoose will be a great foundation in building their future!
