Funded Mar 25, 2024I hope this note finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous contributions that made the STEM bins possible in my classroom. Your support has had a profound impact on my fourth graders, and I cannot thank you enough.
Since introducing the STEM bins, my students have shown remarkable enthusiasm and engagement in their learning. Funded Aug 13, 2023Thank you so much for providing the resources our class needed to publish their writing in a more formal way. Allowing students the opportunity to type and print their creative stories and informational essays is a crucial component to helping children become college and career ready. My students were so excited to print off their writing and hang it in our hallway for the school to see. They love showing off their work now and that truly makes me so happy. Donations like this help teachers to make learning fun and memorable. Thank you!!”

Funded May 9, 2023Poetry is a genre that so many students begrudgingly participate in. My hope this year was to show students how magical and beautiful poetry could be. I feel like our novel study of Love That Dog truly helped me accomplish that. My students repeated to the main character, Jack, as he gave his not so great feelings on having to write poetry. They enjoyed watching him mimic different authors. They were stunned and saddened when the story hit the climax and all of Jacks poems came together. It was then that they realized the meaning of poetry. The realized poets write to make their audience feel. The realized that poetry evokes emotion. Thanks to your donations my students are already more successful poets than they were two months ago. Having this book available for a mentor text has positively influenced my poetry unit and I am forever grateful. Thank you.”

Funded Jul 28, 2023I am blown away by your generosity! Thanks to you our students were able to engage in an extremely meaningful hands on science activity. Actually seeing a portion of an ecosystems food chain with their own eyes was truly magical. Witnessing students make discoveries of skeletal parts in the owl pellets was a teaching moment I so grateful for.
Allowing this state standard to come to life for our students gave them the opportunity to learn and understand at a higher level. This would not have been possible without your donations.”

Art Smart!
Funded Aug 2, 2023I can't thank you enough for the art supplies you have provided for my students. Being able to express themselves and their creativity is so important to me. Having these art supplies on hand make it easy to integrate art into our day. Most recently, we have been studying Hispanic heritage during our Spanish block. Today my students were able to research Hispanic artist, Pablo Picasso and learn about his revolutionary style of art. My students then proceeded to make their own Picasso inspired portraits using oil pastels. They loved this assignment and I loved how they were able to express themselves and their learning through art! Projects like this wouldn't be possible without generous supporters.”

Funded Aug 20, 2023I can't thank you enough for your generosity towards my students and my vision for their gratitude journals. After hearing national teacher of the year Rebecca Peterson speak at our back to school convocation, I was inspired to help my students recognize one good thing from their day each day. We have been using the gratitude journals for a week and it has sparked really awesome conversations within our classroom. My students are showing gratitude for the simplest things and for the most influential people in their lives. They've been able to find kindness and recognize it every single day. I am so thankful for this project and for your donations.”

Funded Nov 29, 2022Wow! What an exciting experience this was for our fifth graders! The anticipation leading up to the owl pellet dissection has been growing for weeks! Being able to allow these young minds to truly see the impact of certain food chains and ecosystems in a hands on way was truly magical. We spent a week exploring ecosystems, food chains, and food webs. We then were able to look specifically at where a barn owl would fall in a food chain. Having the opportunity for the dissection of the pellets be our cumulative activity was something these kids will never forget. Thank you for your generosity and support of public education.”

Funded Aug 16, 2022By funding this project you have allowed my students the opportunity to be in a creative mindset while in a positive learning atmosphere. Not having to worry about essential supplies has taken a large burden off myself and my students. TOT has given me the opportunity to integrate creative and engaging lessons throughout our year. Our art supplies have gone to great use as we used them to create our own dot art for international dot day! We greatly appreciate the DonorsChoose platform and the donors who support it.”
