Having alternative seating available, including the requested Big Joe and balance ball chairs, will help my students to choose seats where they can stay focused and alert, while making our classroom feel cozy and secure. The clipboards will help us to keep our work with us while we're actively engaged around the room.
We would love to have an area rug to hold our morning meetings, read books, and work as a team. Our room has very old carpet, and this would give them a nice clean place to sit together.
The shelves will be used to help us store our books, but will be placed sideways with cushions on top, so students have more seating available. The goal is to make school a comfortable and welcoming place that students can't wait to come back to.
