A new rug will allow sustained silent reading in our classroom to be more comfortable and engaging for students. The students love to lay on the floor or against the few small pillows I currently have in the classroom. I envision the students being anxious to start independent reading time with these new materials. I want students to be excited to come into our classroom reading area and have it truly feel like 'A Home Away From Home." I envision students being able to snuggle up on the rug with a pillow enjoying a good book. When my students look back they will remember how cozy and comfortable reading was in our classroom. Hopefully, this thought will continue throughout their lifetime.

About my class
