  • Welcoming Literacy and Seating!

    Funded Jan 4, 2020

Durning this time of students remote learning at home, because of your donations, I was able to use the book baggies to send children home with books. The bins served to carry text books in an organized way to send home as well as for me to organize myself to remotely teach my student.

While in class, and when I return I will be using everything! Students will be using the seats in our meeting area, just as you see in the pictures and use book baggies to take books safely home.

Because of your donation my students have a library that is easily cleanable! Daily when I return I will be able to wipe it down and keep them safe! I can't say thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lopez

  • Our Classroom Needs To Help With Speech and OT

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Our classroom was blessed with the WiFi radio, Hear Myself Sound Phones and pencil grips. All 12- 13 students in my class have been utilizing the equipment through daily hand writing assignments, read alongs, shared reading lessons and most importantly for writing words and working out their mathematical problems. The pencil grips are providing the fine motor structure support to their little hands, as they produce these wonderful stories. While the Sound phones are allowing them to convey the sounds they hear in words and then conveying the sounds to letters on paper.

Our new and upcoming projects will focus on Graduation. This year our new WiFi radio will allow us to edit our music so that we can perform. We will also be using the Sound Phones to hear our self pronouncing the words properly. We plan to write about our experiences and all we learned in our Kindergarten in our Memorial Book.

We all Thank You for your Donation and helping us to bring more life to our room while supporting our learning goals with our new radio and learning tools.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Lopez

My students come from low income/poverty level homes. The English language isn't always their first language. They lack social skills because most of them have never been to school before. These student come in with a lower end prior knowledge base because of lack of exposure to their education. Most of these students are consistently told at home that school is not something they can be good at, due to a diagnoses of some sort and/or the lack of resources/information given to their parents. Once parents see that there is someone who can help their child it changes everything for them. They want to participate. They want to learn how to help their child. The parent begins to work with us. More importantly, the child begins to learn! I want this year to be the year that changes their lives (both parent and child building towards a better community) and gives them the encouragement they need to start a life long goal of learning! Generations return to this school. I am a living example!
