Rugs and Hugs
Funded Aug 25, 2022Having a new carpet in the classroom has brought us all together. We now have a clean comfortable and cozy place to say good morning and share about our lives. During learning time we have the perfect base for all our innovative building projects. It gives us a place to dance and sing and helps us keep our personal space with its different graphics. We also like to relax after a fun time on the playground on our clean new rug. I am so grateful to have such fantastic support so I can have a pleasant classroom for my students.”

Art In Action
Funded Mar 10, 2019The students were very excited to dive into all the new materials. Scissors were flying and markers were moving to create everything from masks to puppets, with the new construction paper. The stamps made working with play doh a new experience. They made patterns and explored the different ways to use them. The rubbing plates were used to create pictures then embellished with stickers and other available materials. Wipe boards are great because if don't like your picture, you just wipe it away and start again. No area was more visited than art with the delivery of our new materials. My students definitely benefited from your great generosity.”

Block Area Revamp
Funded Feb 28, 2019My student a could not stop creating with their new materials. The materials I purchased are large and inspired a completely different kind of block building. I brought dimension and the children were able to create structures that they themselves could fit into. I loved to see the innovation taking place. Also, cooperative play was increased as the children worked together on their large building projects. Block area had gotten a little stale and tired. This was the perfect shot in the arm it needed to keep the children interested and growing.”

Funded Feb 14, 2019My students were uncontrollably excited when they saw the boxes coming through the door. The areas refreshed have never been so full of children solving problems, learning self help skills, and cooperating through the new dolls, clothes, cell phones, and other accessories that have made our classroom an exciting place to be. Over the years toys deteriorate and must be replaced. As you all know children's toys can be expensive and there is little funding for these types of items. Your generous contributions help keep my classroom and fresh and exciting place to learn and grow.”

Classroom Fixer Upper
Funded Mar 27, 2018Our classroom organization has been brought to a new level with the shelves and bins I you purchased for me. The children are now clearly able to choose what they want from the art area because all the bins are clear and the materials are easily identified. I am now able to create distinct centers and organize a variety of materials in the area for the children to play with and a manner that makes it easy for them to enjoy and then put them away. Classroom organization is at the root of learning. I feel so proud to be able to supply such an organized and clean learning environment for my students.”

Funded Dec 8, 2017The children were dying to open the different science materials. They have become so curious about nature, our bodies, and the world around us. The visuals we now have spark different questions about how our bodies function, our universe and nature. They are also working together to solve puzzles, make observations, ask and answer questions.
The x rays of humans and animals have sparked some research on how our bodies work and how different types of animals move... "do snakes have bones, what makes bunnies' ears stand up straight?" We are having a great time learning and exploring with our new science area.”

Funded Nov 6, 2017My students were very excited to see all the new materials. They were cheering when they saw all the big boxes.
Our manipulatives were very old and boring before, now the children are doing some inventive things. A group of girls enjoys playing with the farm. They use the new people to care for the animals, they role play and have great interactions based on these new toys.
The computer mice have made it so much easier for the children to use the computers. They no longer struggle to click on the correct thing, as these are smaller to fit their little hands.
The different structure blocks have a following of children, who love to follow the examples given and then try their own.
My children will continue to flourish with these new manipulatives and create what is in their imagination.”

Funded Sep 28, 2017Our new house area is a great source of activity for my students. The new materials have inspired roll playing, fire safety, and lessons about a healthy diet. For the healthy diet the children learned the categories using our new play food and we talked about everyday foods and sometime foods.
When my students saw the boxes coming in they began to cheer. They loved all the new materials being placed on the shelves. We created waiting lists so everyone could have a turn to play with the new items.
In my classroom we are always growing and changing. We have had several successful projects such as block and building area. The children are now working cooperatively to create structures from made plans and plans they create themselves. I love to see the increased team work and language developing from that project.”

Funded Sep 8, 2017My students have taken a new interest in the art area. They were super excited to see them deliver all the boxes. When I opened them in front of all of the children they cheered. That day everyone wanted to be in the art area. My students are able to access a variety of materials easily with the new caddy. They are also able to represent people better with the new skin colored markers. The dot markers are great for my active boys that enjoy being physical while they are creating. The smocks are great to keep the awesome paint we got off the clothes and on the paper. Stamp pads add a new dimension to the stamps that where boring and dark now are bright and fun. Colored pencils allow for details that markers and crayons do not. And skinny markers are used to make details on our pictures that need a heavier effect. Art area is always buzzing but now the kids can't get enough of reinventing our fun new materials.”
