Math Centers Create Future Problem Solvers of the World!
Funded Aug 28, 2017We are so appreciative of the donations that supplied our classroom with engaging and rigorous math centers! These hands-on math games have our students excited about learning and wanting to try new things. This is also provided an avenue for students to learn teamwork as they work through problems and puzzles together. This has helped students deepen their knowledge and truly internalize the math skills that they are working on.
Your tremendous contributions have helped our classroom excel in math and we are well on our way to becoming future problem solvers!”

Funded Aug 9, 2017Thank you so much for your generous donation that allowed our classroom to have enough headphones for our computers, listening center, and ipads! With all of this great technology available to students it was becoming difficult to focus on the task at hand due to the noise. These headphones have allowed students to be able to concentrate on only the information intended for them so that they can grow at their individual level. This allows students to work on various skills and reading levels without any interference or worry that other students are listening.
Your kind contributions will be used for years to come and we are forever thankful for YOU!”

Funded Aug 9, 2017Your generous contributions to this project has saved us so much time and hassle. Prior to our chair bags, we were passing out and collecting folders, papers, journals, and workbooks multiple times a day. Now, students have these items readily at their fingertips and can grab them at a moments notice. We are saving SO much time that can be invested in more learning.
Students were very excited to have the chair bags at their desks. They take pride in having all of their things very near to them throughout the day and are quickly learning how to stay organized - which is an essential skill for becoming a successful individual.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart - your donations mean the world to our classroom!”

Mrs. Neal
Junie B. Jones is so Hot in First Grade!
Funded Apr 11, 2017Thank you so much for providing these books for our classroom. While students have access to a number of picture books in our classroom library, chapter books have been scarce. These early reader chapter books allow my students to grow as readers and expand upon their knowledge of plot and text structure in a book that is more realistic to what they will read as adults.
My students are overjoyed at the fact that they have access to EVERY SINGLE JUNIE B. JONES book that exists. They have created personal challenges for one another to see how many they can read. Some even write their retell of the story when they are finished. It is amazing to see them push one another simply because they are so interested in the series. YOU made this possible and I cannot thank you enough!”

Models for Great Reading Needed by Students Learning to Read!
Funded Aug 3, 2016This project has allowed me to fully open a listening center in my classroom. Each day, students travel through several different independent work stations in that are focused on literacy. Some are learning games, some involve computer programs, but my students are most excited about the listening center. They are so engaged in this center because they are able to access texts that are above their reading level. They love getting to hear the stories read to them on CD as they follow along.
The impact of having students daily listen to great reading has been tremendous. Not only do my students have a true love of reading, they are reading with expression that was modeled to them while listening to various adult readers record their favorite texts.
You've done more than just provide a few books and CDs - you've helped create readers who will continue loving reading beyond the walls of my classroom. For that, I am ever grateful for your generous donations!”

Funded Nov 11, 2015My students were so excited to receive a box that was bigger than they are. They were even more excited when I told them that what was inside the box was for them and it would help them become better writers. It took a few days for us to put it together but when we did, everyone was excited to use the easel for our writing project. Our first project was to create our own version of "The Three Little Pigs". Everyone got a chance to add to the story and write something on the board.
Since receiving the easel from our wonderful donors, we have undoubtedly grown as writers and readers. My students are more engaged in the writing activities we do in class and have become more proficient writers. They look forward to getting a chance to write with the "magic pen" and create something of their own on the easel. We truly appreciate this opportunity to access materials that we would've otherwise not had. Thank you very much for choosing to support our classroom.”

Whiteboards for 1st Grade Class Individual Learning
Funded Sep 12, 2015When we opened the package from Donors Choose, my students were SO excited to see the magnetic whiteboards that they would get to use for various lessons in our class. They have proved to be a fun tool in our class and students are very investing in lessons involving the whiteboards. We use them for group work, review games, and with magnetic letters so that students can manipulate words in a different manner. This has added another layer of interest and brought a tangible quality to reading and writing that we were lacking before.
Your generosity means so much to me and to my students. The students in my classrooms are often without materials or the experiences to enhance reading and writing at home, so this opportunity has provided them with an invaluable learning experience. We all appreciate you!!”

Listening Center Will Provide Examples of GREAT READERS!
Funded Jul 28, 2015Thank you SO much for your generous donations to my classroom! Your donations have provided my students with the opportunity to hear literature read by exciting readers. Most of my students are already below grade-level in their reading and have struggled to find joy in reading because it is so difficult for them to grasp. This listening center has provided them the opportunity to hear fun and interesting stories read to them in a relaxed atmosphere so they can truly enjoy the story. This is not only teaching them to become great readers themselves, but giving them the opportunity to experience texts they wouldn't be able to reach on their own.
It truly means so much to me and to my students that you would contribute to their future and believe in them as readers. We are so fortunate to have your support and we cannot thank you enough!!!”

Mrs. Neal
