  • Animals, Animals, Everywhere!

    Funded Sep 30, 2022

I will be forever grateful for your generous donation. This project has given my class the opportunity to read nonfiction books, which are always their favorite. They loved the books so much that they asked to do reports on the different animals. Seriously! They got into small groups of 3-4 and worked together, not only to write an informational paper, but they came together to present their findings to the class. Words cannot express how blown away I was at their willingness to do 'extra' work. You made this happen. Because you provided them the chance to read a variety of text, their desire to read and learn skyrocketed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simon

  • Level Me Up

    Funded Jan 12, 2024

Your book donation is greatly appreciated. As a first grade teacher, it's hard to keep a variety of high interest books available for kids to read. When new books arrive, it's like Christmas morning in our classroom. Thank you so much for being an intrigue part of future generations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simon

  • Where Am I?

    Funded Jul 14, 2021

You generous donation is greatly appreciated. Please know that we used these books almost every day in our classroom. These leveled readers are used in small group, where children read together and discuss their finding. We call this time "Book Clubs" and it's where I usually see the most reading growth for my students. Because of you, the next generation of children are stronger readers who have great communication skills. You have helped foster the love of reading within my students and for that I will be forever grateful.”

  • It Fits Just Right

    Funded Dec 6, 2022

Reading is hard for most children, so having a book that's just the right level is critical in helping them achieve their goal. However, the best part of my job is taking a child from "liking" reading to "loving" reading. Your donation has given my students the opportunity to select books that are both on their reading level and interesting to them. You have played an super important role in creating a generation of life long readers. Please know that without generous donors like you, this may not be possible. You are forever part of our TES family. Thank you from the bottom of my heat.”

  • Dream Big with Biographies

    Funded Aug 6, 2022

It's hard to put into words what your donation has meant to our class. Students are super excited to read about real people and there's no price tag you can put on igniting the love of reading. Also, the fact that they have multiple copies of the same books allows them the opportunity to read with a friend. Every morning my kiddos have the 15-20 minutes to partner read and they gravitate to the biographies that you helped to purchase. Please know that because of your donation, the next generation of children will love to read because you help to make it fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Simon

  • In The Box

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

People who are not in the education industry do not realize the struggles that students have with keeping up with their belonging, especially for elementary students. Your donation of pencil boxes helped my kiddos learn how to be responsible. They treat the boxes with respect and keep all of their classroom necessities in them, especially they pencil sharpeners you provided. The highlighters have been a huge hit too. I teach my kiddos how to 'find evidence' within the passage they are reading in order to successfully answer each question. They use the colored highlighters to locate their evidence and coordinate it with specific questions using different colors.

Your donation has helped to not only create responsible children, but to further their reading success. You have been a blessing to our class and for that I will forever be grateful.”

  • Books Are the Gateway

    Funded Mar 10, 2023

Your donation is a true gift of love and my class will forever be grateful. The two series you have purchased are fantastic and my students LOVE them. Finding a great book is the most important part of creating lifelong readers and you have helped me accomplish that. Thank you for helping me to foster the love of reading for future generations.”

  • That's How That Happened

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Do you remember your first grade experience? Sadly, first grade is now much more demanding than when you and I were in first grade! It's my job to make learning fun, but it's hard sometimes to do this on a teachers salary. That's when amazing people like you step in. Your donation helped to buy classroom books above and beyond our imaginations. You have helped instill the love of learning and for that, I will forever be grateful. Welcome to our TES classroom family. You are loved and appreciated.

  • Start the Journey

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

Thank you so much for funding this amazing project for our classroom. One of my favorite things to see is the the pride that a student shows when they move up to reading chapter books. They are able to work with book partners and led reading lessons for their peers. Without your incredible contribution, this would not be possible. It's wonderful people like you that make a true difference in our children's future. We will be eternally grateful for your donation. We would like to welcome you as the newest member of our classroom family.”

I teach at a Title I school where the majority of the students are low-income and/or English Language Learners. Regardless of the incredible challenges my students face daily, they show up each morning with smiles on their faces and an eagerness to learn. In our classroom we support either other socially, emotionally, and academically. My students walk in as individuals on the first day of school and walk out 36 weeks later as part of a classroom family.
