By providing the students of my classroom these math manipulatives, it allows them to grasp some of our grade-level's most complicated standards!
While students often claim they are "bad at math" I want to encourage them, through these hands-on tools, to discover that we can all be mathematicians.
I can't wait to inspire and spark a fire in the hearts of my students about all they can do with math, instead of the focus being on all they don't know how to do! I hope to do this through being able to not only learn about but have students be able to touch, feel, grasp, and interact with fractions, multiples and volume. This will help to bring the learning of these deeper concepts to life and help to make these ideas concretely real!
By allowing students to manipulate the math learning in their actual hands, it will better stick to allow for their learning to last longer than just my classroom!
