  • A Digital Delight

    Funded Jul 15, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. It's been so fantastic to be back in the classroom and experiencing a normal school year. My students are so happy to be back in school. Unfortunately, many of them are significantly behind in their learning because of online school last year. However, my students have been thoroughly enjoying the Flocabulary videos that you so kindly purchased for us. These videos are highly engaging for students and help teach and solidify student understanding of important and essential curriculum content. I often hear my students singing or repeating these raps for fun or while doing their work. This tells me that what they are learning is really syncing in. Your contribution to our classroom is greatly appreciated.”

    Ms. Skidmore

  • Missing and Memorable Books

    Funded May 27, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. This project was funded just in time for summer school. Most of my students opted to come to summer school. Three quarters of the year was full time online. My students had missed being in school, and this was an opportunity for more real school. The first week or so of summer school, we anticipated book deliveries daily since you were able to help in the funding of this project. Imagine eager faces watching me unpackage several popular books and being delighted to finally be able to read a missing book from their favorite series. They all wanted to read every book that arrived, so it was a welcomed challenge to determine who would get to read the new books first. Your generosity in purchasing these books for us definitely fostered a love of reading.”

  • Wobble Readers

    Funded May 27, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. This project was funded just in time for summer school. Most of my students opted to come to summer school. Three quarters of the year was full time online. My students had missed being in school, and this was an opportunity for more real school. The day that the 4 wobble chairs arrived, my students couldn't imagine what was inside the gigantic package. It took 4 of my third graders to carry it to our classroom. Once opened and the wobble chairs were revealed, it was no going back to regular chairs for some of them. The excitement to wobble and work really was a thrill. The wobble chairs helped my students be more focused. The books were also a great addition to our class library. Your generosity in purchasing these items for us definitely fostered a love of reading and learning.”

  • Beloved Books

    Funded May 5, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. When this project was funded at the beginning of May, we had only been back in school full time for 3 weeks, and we only had 3 more week left of the school year. Although we didn't have much time left, we anticipated book deliveries daily since you were able to help in the funding of this project. Imagine eager faces watching me unpackage numerous popular book series for independent reading time. They all wanted to read every book that arrived, so it was a delightful challenge to determine who would get to read the new books first. Your generosity in purchasing these books definitely fostered a love of reading.”

  • Lavish My Library

    Funded Mar 17, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in my classroom. The funding of this project was perfect. I posted this project at the beginning of March when we first went back to in person instruction after a year of online learning. We were using the hybrid model in which students came to school 2 days a week and had online school for 3 days a week. Almost to the day that this project was fully funded, which was in mid-March, it was announced that beginning April 9th after Spring Break we would be returning to full time in person instruction, an exciting day for everyone! My supplies all came before Spring Break, and I was able to organize, label, and level our library before students returned after Spring Break. My students were thrilled to be back in class and what added more to their enthusiasm was seeing hundreds of books neatly organized using the colorful bins that were purchased for our classroom. They immediately wanted to explore the library and find books to read at their level, and that was easy for them to do because of what you provided for us. Your generosity is truly appreciated.”

  • Tangrams, Technology, and Teaching Supplies!!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you for funding my project. My students have had online school since August and just recently on March 1st were able to return to in person instruction for the first time in almost a year. They were so happy to back in school, and I was so happy to be with them. For my first face to face math lesson with my students, I used the tangrams that you purchased for us. Because of the pandemic, students needed their own set of manipulatives. Without your generosity, my students would not have been able to enjoy this fun learning activity upon their return to school. Tangrams help students learn to recognize, identify, and manipulate geometric shapes. As students explore tangrams, they also build visual-spatial skills. My students were extremely excited and highly engaged in their learning as they used their tangrams. Smiles were seen all over the classroom as students focused and enjoyed this activity. The combination of being back in school and exploring tangrams will be a memory that my students will never forget for many years to come.”

  • Mice for Kids!

    Funded Nov 30, 2020

Thank you so much for purchasing mice for the Chromebooks of my students. This year has been a challenging one with the pandemic and distance learning. At the beginning of the school year, all students at our school were issued iPads as they waited for our Chromebooks to arrive. Because of the district and world-wide demand, we did not receive our Chromebooks until October, which was 2 months after school started. Upon receiving the Chromebooks, my students had to adjust to using a touch pad to navigate their Chromebook, and for most of them, it was very difficult to do. For many students, having to use a touch pad was frustrating and often prevented them from being successful in their work and learning. Your generosity in purchasing mice for them has helped my students tremendously. They were all smiles and so excited when I told them that they could come by the school and pick up a brand new mouse to connect to their Chromebook. Since they have been using their mice, students have been completing more work and have been more excited to learn and participate. Your act of kindness has definitely impacted my students learning and will benefit them for years to come.”

    Ms. Skidmore

Due to the pandemic, our students must learn from home. Students were given a school issued Chromebook, but no mouse. I have found my students are struggling to use engaging technology programs, such as Nearpod and Google Slides, using the trackpad on the Chromebook. Little hands struggle to have the fine motor skills to hold down corners while they move their hand around on the pad. Students need a mouse, which is much easier to control and manipulate. Having a mouse, that each student can use with their Chromebook, will make it easier for my students to have success when participating with distance education.
