  • Delightful Digital Learning

    Funded Oct 18, 2022

It's been so wonderful to have the Brain Pop Jr. video clips again this year. Thank you for so kindly renewing our subscription to these fantastic videos. My students enjoy watching and listening to the characters, Annie and Moby, teach about what they are learning in school. Annie and Moby are highly engaging as they help teach and solidify student understanding of important and essential curriculum content. As I have incorporated the Brain Pop Jr. digital animation in my daily lessons, I have noticed that my students have been making additional connections and have developed a deeper understanding of core concepts. This digital content has definitely enriched and enhanced student learning and has been a delight. Your contribution to our classroom is greatly appreciated.”

  • Hot Off the Press

    Funded May 6, 2022

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. My students love to read. They especially love to read series such as Captain Underpants, Captain Awesome, Mighty Robot, Bad Guys, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Bad Kitty. Imagine how excited they were when they opened the box with the latest books from their favorite series. They were smiling, cheering, and jumping up and down. They all wanted to be the first one to read the new series books. We are truly grateful for your generosity in providing these new books for us.”

  • Games! Games! Games!

    Funded Jun 16, 2022

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. My students have thoroughly enjoyed playing the math games provided by the funding of this project, especially the bingo games. Sometimes teachers must trick kids into learning in order to keep students focused and engaged. It can be easily accomplished by using games that teach or refine skills in a fun way. I find this especially true when it comes to math. Student don't even realize how much they are learning since they are having so much fun. The skill based math games that I received for our classroom have challenged my students to think, problem solve, and strategize. And my students are always asking if we can play it again. Your generosity in providing these games is greatly appreciated.”

  • Rejuvenate Recess!

    Funded Jun 2, 2022

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. The recess equipment purchased from this project has been a big hit. My students look forward to recess every day. In fact, I am sure there are some that would say that recess is their favorite subject in school. My students have loved playing basketball, football, soccer, and jump rope. Having this equipment has helped my students both socially and emotionally. They have made friends by joining in games together. They have also learned how to get along, play fairly, and cooperatively—all very important life skills. Coming out of the pandemic, many students have struggled to make friends and learn how to be a good friend. Providing the recess equipment has really helped my students' progress socially and emotionally while having fun. Their concentration and focus in classroom has also increased because recess provides a valuable brain break. Thank you so much for making this happen.”

  • Math Mania

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. The math manipulatives that were purchased from this project have been an immense help in teaching key math concepts from the required curriculum. In third grade, fractions are studied and analyzed in great depth. The whiteboards purchased had pre-made fraction number lines, which helped students to conceptualize and understand fractions in a particularly organized and interactive manner. Third graders also learn various strategies for learning their multiplication and division facts. The round double sided counters and the magnetic jumbo counters really assisted in student understanding and my teaching of multiplication and division. My students loved using all these manipulatives in class. It made learning fun! Thank you so much for your contribution.”

  • Read and Relax

    Funded Jan 7, 2022

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. My students have truly enjoyed working and reading on the purchased bean bag chairs. Students in my class work hard to earn classroom money. With their classroom money, they have the option to buy a bean bag chair for a day. It has been a popular purchase, and my students love working and reading while relaxing in the comfortable bean bag chairs. In addition, the books purchased in this project have been read by numerous students. The series The Bad Guys has been highly motivating to my lower readers. It has been especially helpful in preparing these students to read more difficult chapter books. Your contribution to our class has been greatly appreciated.”

  • Bounteous Books!

    Funded Oct 10, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. Since the arrival of the numerous assorted books, my students have been extremely excited about reading. They are always asking for extra reading time, so they can dive into these wonderful books. By funding this book project, you have provided a variety of genres for my students to read. You also have provided a variety of leveled books ensuring each child in my classroom has something to read that interests him or her. Research has shown that when students are provided with high interest books at their zone of proximal reading level that comprehension and fluency levels increase at an optimum growth rate. Your donation has contributed to my students' reading growth and has inspired a love of reading.”

  • Incredible Incentives

    Funded Jul 29, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. My students have been diligently working to earn classroom money to purchase the many classroom prizes available because of your generosity in funding this project. Students earn class money by achieving gold medals in IXL and blue ribbons in Study Island. IXL and Study Island are online learning platforms that give students additional practice on the content standards we are learning in class. Students also earn class money by reading books and getting a 70% or higher on an online quiz. They have enjoyed perusing the prizes and often have difficulty choosing from all the incredible incentives. However, I think that their top 2 favorite items are the sticky hands and slime. They keep purchasing these things over and over again. My students are learning a lot and having a lot of fun as they work hard to earn money in order to buy their favorite prizes. Thank you for making this happen for us.”

  • First Day Fundamentals

    Funded Jul 23, 2021

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom. The supplies that were purchased from this project have definitely helped us to start the school year off right. Students are progressing in their understanding of math story problems. I have been printing story problems on the labels that were purchased. Students solve a problem a day in their math journal, and they are always excited to share their thinking. In addition, students have been working hard earning classroom money to purchase prizes. Thanks to you, they have been able to safely store their class money in the large envelopes that were funded. I have also had to repair a lot of well-loved and often read books with the book tape that was ordered. I love seeing my students excited about reading. Finally, the colorful dry erase board markers have made teaching and learning so much more fun. Your contribution to our classroom has been greatly appreciated.”

Due to the pandemic, our students must learn from home. Students were given a school issued Chromebook, but no mouse. I have found my students are struggling to use engaging technology programs, such as Nearpod and Google Slides, using the trackpad on the Chromebook. Little hands struggle to have the fine motor skills to hold down corners while they move their hand around on the pad. Students need a mouse, which is much easier to control and manipulate. Having a mouse, that each student can use with their Chromebook, will make it easier for my students to have success when participating with distance education.
