This year I will be teaching fourth grade for the first time but I am lucky enough I also get to share this experience with the same third graders, my ‘kids’ I had last year. Our elementary school is located on the southwest side of Indianapolis. Currently, 67% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. I will have 21 students, four of which speak English as a second language. Our school is focused on Project Based Learning(PBL) in which students and teachers are challenged to work together to problem solve, plan, manage, and assess, using a hands-on learning approach. We place a huge focus on learning 21st century skills.
