Basketball Life at ACRMA8
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you very much for your kind donation to allow us to have two portable basketball courts. The students were super excited when they saw the FedEx truck pull up and wheel in the big boxes. A couple of students stayed after school and helped us build the courts. They were excited and helped fill the bases with water and sand.
They were happy to play a full court game and get a bunch of their friends and teammates to get in a few games right after they were up and ready to be played with. The students mentioned how much funner Physical Education class and basketball practice will be with a full court set to the right specifications.
Thank you so much!”

Funded Mar 6, 2018First off thank you very much! It is with great appreciation and joy that I am writing this letter thank you letter. We have just begun our Floor Hockey unit. The students are super excited and enthusiastic to learn a completely new sport that is outside of their traditional ones.
They were shocked to see how many sticks we received and how durable and cool looking they are. Big fans of the colors blue and yellow! We are doing dribbling and passing drills this week and will move on to shooting drills next week.
The students are super excited and can't wait until we start playing mini-games and full on games in about two to three weeks. The students are excited and ask if we can start playing during lunch and after school.
Thank you again for the kind gesture. Much appreciation. All the best.”

Funded Dec 22, 2017It is with great pleasure to share with you that my advisory is ecstatic with their new books! They are very happy to have the variety and many new selections available to them now. They have many different genres to choose from! They were super excited to open the boxes and see the new books. They could hardly wait, they were a bit impatient but once I let them open the boxes it was worth the wait! The Dogman series, Lord of the rings, I am series, and much more allow the students to read various genres and not be too picky.
The students are focused and determined to raise their AR levels and improve their literacy and pass their quizzes. They are also able to talk and share their perspectives in the books with their friends and classmates. These books have been super helpful and allowing even the shy kids to share out loud.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! All the best!”

ACRMA#8
Funded Oct 29, 2015My students have enjoyed using their new equipment. The hula hoops, Frisbees, foam balls, and handballs are very useful and are used in a variety of activities. The favorite equipment to use are the frisbees and hula hoops. These two items are used daily for small games and manipulative skills. They really love playing Castle ball and using the frisbees for playing Ultimate. The handballs and foam balls are going to be extremely useful in our next two units.
The students were very happy and surprised when i told them and showed them the new and awesome equipment we received because of your kind donations! They helped me count and unbox the equipment and understood how important it is to keep the equipment in good condition and to use it respectfully and correctly. They were happy with the equipment because of the various activities they are now playing and they even make up their own games with items.
My students will continue to use the equipment to learn new games that are not traditional, but focused on healthy living and fitness activities. Aerobic and anaerobic workouts that can be fun with hula hoops, throwing and running around catching a Frisbee, playing moving catch with foam balls and handballs are just small activities and games for them to continue learning and playing throughout their stay here at ACRMA#8.”
