Students spend a great deal of time sitting at school. While efforts should be made to help students be moving and active, there will always be a time and place where sitting for a long period of time is necessary. Improving stamina in students is important, but this stamina can require more time in chairs focused on a task. I seek to aid their ability to sit for longer time periods by offering my students cushioned seating that can be used anywhere in my classroom. A comfortable place to sit will improve focus, time on task, and success for my students. Cushions that are portable can make an empty spot become a cozy corner for reading with peers on the floor. A student who has the need to kneel can do so and be comfortable doing so. Any chair becomes a desirable place to sit when you know you will be comfortable. In the end, I see students work success improving and stamina extended with these mobile seat cushions that all my students can use and benefit from.
