• Replenishing Printing Materials For A New Year

• Portable Writing/Presentation Space Needed!

  As the year comes to an end, I just wanted to take a moment to update you on how your donations have effected my classroom and students. Having this new magnetic dry erase board is fantastic! Our old one was impossible to move and the writing space was seriously damaged due to years of wear and tear. This new, large board moves seemlessly around the classroom and provides a great space to display anchor charts for writing. It is magnetic so charts can easily be changed as needed and my magnetic pocket chart fits perfectly, which is used regularly for phonics instruction. It also provides my students with a large area to showcase their thinking, especially during math!

• If You Give a Class a Printer

  As the year comes to an end, I just wanted to take a moment to update you on how your donations have effected my classroom and students. Having this classroom printer has made such an impact. It makes planning so much easier. No longer am I desperately waiting for my copies to show up. I can now print materials out for instruction ahead of time and as needed. It gives me the ability to quickly and easily print out any extra material that my students may need. In addition, we recently worked on a PBL project. Having a wireless printer in the classroom was a game changer! Students had the ability to print out their research in real time as they worked with their groups. It also provided them with the copies/materials needed in order to complete their projects. Lastly, we were able to print out color photographs for our bulletin board presentation.

• Learning to Love Reading on All Levels

• A Comfortable Place For All To Learn

  I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you for your generous donation and support. I wanted you to personally know how this beautiful rug completes our classroom. We are well into the school year and I can honestly say that having this space for the students to gather has made such a big difference in our daily routines. Each morning, students eagerly gather after they have unpacked to show that they are ready to start the day. Students also use the carpet as a comfortable place to stretch out and read with their buddies during center time. The most important impact has been with organization. On many occasions, we may start something, only to run out of time! We may quickly need to head to gym or lunch with little time to put our things away. With each student having their "own spot", we can easily pick up where we left off, as each student has their materials waiting for them right where they left them.

  A few of my students had asked where I had gotten the money from to buy such a nice rug. When I explained about my project and told them where the money had come from, their responses were priceless and genuine. One student in particular said, "They must be very nice people to help kids they don't know!" And I agree!!!! A big thank you again for our big, beautiful, and fabulous rug!!!”
