  • We grow butterflies in our garden!

    Funded Jan 3, 2006

Thank you so much for this wonderful gift! The materials that you have purchased for not only my students, but for the entire 2nd grade, will provide a wonderful and memorable learning experience for the children. Students enjoy learning about the Earth and about animals, and I know that they will love having butterflies in their care. Thanks again for this most valuable gift.

Also, please note that since we will be caring for and releasing the butterflies in the late spring, I have set the feedback due date for June 30, 2006. I think that you will really enjoy seeing photos of the students releasing the butterflies in the garden. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Sincerely,

    Jessica ”

What a fantastic surprise! My students are going to be thrilled when I tell them the great news. The kids have been learning about the Rose Center for Earth and Space throughout our study of NYC, and they are fascinated by it! This is going to be an excellent learning experience for the children. Thanks for opening up a world of opportunity for my students”

  • A Trip in Time on the Lower East Side

    Funded Nov 16, 2005

Thank you so much for this fantastic gift! Just today I took the class on a trip to the NY Transit Museum, and I know that some parents had trouble paying the museum fee. I was beginning to worry about what I should do about the Lower East Side Tenement Museum trip, since I know that the cost would be a concern for parents. Thanks for allowing this trip to actually happen! I know that it will be a meaningful and memorable experience for my students.

    Best Regards,

  • Reading Capsule Chairs Encourage Second-Grade Readers With Quiet and Privacy

    Funded Nov 9, 2005

Hooray! What a great surprise! Thank you so much for choosing to fund this proposal. My students love to sit in the one chair that we have, and additional chairs in the classroom will make reading time so much more fun for the kids. I like to see my students enjoying themselves while they do their work. My goal is to help my students develop a life-long love of learning, which will motivate them to go on to high school and college. I know that these chairs will definitely spark the interest of my students, and motivate them to produce good work and behave appropriately.

    Thanks again!

  • Welcome to the jungle

    Funded Aug 17, 2005

Wow- what great news! Thank you so much for choosing to make this donation to my classroom. I have tried so hard to make my classroom a fun and enriching learning environment, all with the theme of the rainforest. This will really pull it all together. Not to mention what a pleasure it will be to actually have a clean rug for the children to use! Thank you so much for caring about our children. I promise you - your donation will be put to good use”

  • A Tree Grows in Brooklyn... With Your Help!

    Funded Mar 28, 2005

Hooray! What a fantastic surprise! Thank you so much for making this valuable contribution to our classroom library. This library will enable the students and I to embark upon a unit of study on the Earth, recycling, and gardening. This focus of study will provide students with a wealth of information, which will allow them to be responsible young adults, and later, responsible adults. Thank you for choosing to enrich the lives of a group of wonderful students. Your contribution will continue to positively impact students in the years to come. Thank you for caring, and thank you for making a difference”

  • Where in the World is East New York?

    Funded Mar 7, 2005

Hooray! Well this is just the best news ever! Thank you so much for choosing to provide my students with these enriching resources. I can not wait to use the globe with my students, as well as all of the fantastic art materials. We have just started a unit of study on art and famous artists, and these materials will really come in handy when we attempt to replicate some famous masterpieces. Also, the cash registers will motivate the students to practice counting money and making change, a skill in which they definitely need some practice. Thanks again for your most valuable donation. I assure you that you've made an excellent choice”
