  • Power Up Learning!

    Funded Oct 23, 2020

My students were so excited that they were selected by you to sponsor our classroom to purchase these new materials. The students have enjoyed using the fun and interactive power-up pens.

Immediately the students were able to use the power up pens and cards that reinforced concepts such as place value, time, money, multiplication, division and fractions. The students benefit from the immediate feedback and the opportunity to utilize these fun tools to reinforce concepts learned. I see their eyes light up with excitement when they see that they are retaining concepts and how engaged they are when they utilize the power-up center.

As you may already know, our classroom budget is extremely limited. We appreciate whole-heartedly that you have invested in these very special and deserving learners.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aguilar

  • Empower Young Mathematicians!

    Funded Sep 5, 2020

It is with a humble and grateful heart that we thank you for choosing our classroom of lifelong learners to invest in. My students were so excited to know that materials were purchased for students to continue to learn and share the love of learning with their families.

These materials, purchased with your donations will help to instill a lifelong love of learning. Students will be able to bond with their siblings and parents and share what they learn with each other. Learning, as you know comes in many forms, but what better way than to engage students at home as well.

With many of our students struggling to access materials through technology, there was no better time than now to provide them with materials that not only do not require technology, but also reinforce skills and build relationships around learning.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generous gifts. There is no better gift, than one that keeps on giving. Thank you for investing in our students and the future.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aguilar

  • Wiggle, Wobble, Bounce!

    Funded Nov 22, 2019

Thank you so very much for your generous and heart-felt donations to our classroom!

Our students appear to active, energetic, oversensitive, aggressive, moody, or demonstrate other inappropriate responses to their environment. You have helps to create a critical area in our classroom that can help a student who have a high need for a sensory-friendly environment. The students have a place of their own where they feel safe, can actively participate in plan, and enhance their learning and develop essential functional learning and skill development.

Our students benefit from good sensory input from their environment to maintain a seated position. Providing flexible seating helps to maintain a quiet body for an extended period of time and allows the child to develop spacial awareness necessary for a given task.

Your contribution has helped to create an environment conducive to learning and helped to create a "retreat" when a child can feel overly-stimulated, withdrawn, or at a point of meltdown. Our students now have an area to call their own worthy of them and their needs.

They were so excited to see and explore their new area. They all wanted to sit in all of the new areas that were created with the materials you helped provide!

Our next project will be to create a calming ambiance with light covers and lamps to contribute and compliment our new sensory area.

Thank you again for helping and for choosing our students to support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Aguilar

These hand2mind materials are essential in providing each student with an opportunity to succeed. Students will have access to hand-on manipulatives that are much needed in our classroom. Currently, we have zero to one set available of most of the items listed. We are in dire need of hand-on materials as many of what is currently on hand is incomplete, as a result implementing in lessons quite difficult. Students will have access to manipulatives that will help them to visually process concepts such as the fractions and place value. Students will be able to see math in action with these manipulatives. Giving these students access to these materials will contribute to leveling the playing field as I will modify and adapt lessons for each learner. The quiet timed timers and soft light cover with assist students with sensory needs without overstimulating. Your donation to our project will help our students increase attentiveness, focus, contribute to student self-initiative and help students achieve overall success.
