  • Help Us Get Organized!

    Funded Dec 27, 2022

Thank you so much for investing in our classroom by donating these awesome seat organizers. When the students first saw them, they were honestly a little bit confused because they didn't know what it was. But, upon putting them on everyone's chair, they were instantly excited and so grateful to have their own little space to put their belongings.

We are able to utilize these seat covers to organize our desk better. We put our completed work in the different pockets, store our supplies like crayons/pencils, and have our reading books readily accessible because of these seat sacks.

Thank you so much for helping our first graders learn to be more independent in taking ownership of their belongings by organizing them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. (Kim) Yu

  • News News News! Read all about it!

    Funded Dec 17, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation to the class that is and will continue to make such a great impact. Although we originally asked for donations to a class magazine subscription, due to technical issues we were still able to use the donations to purchase a class color printer.

First graders thrive on learning tools that not only have useful tips in written form but also in colorful pictures to go along with it. Pictures especially help my multilingual students connect different concepts with pictures that support their understanding.

Thank you so much for your generous hearts to donate to our class community. This printer will not only impact the students' lives this year, but it will be used every year here on out!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. (Kim) Yu

  • Laminate to Create!

    Funded Dec 27, 2019

Due to your donation, my class is able to get resources that they can use throughout the year. Before, I would print out different tools and strategies for my students but I found myself repeatedly reprinting them due to wear and tear. However, with your contribution to the laminating machine, I am able to laminate the tools and strategies which will last the class the whole year. This not only saves paper but it also allows the class to be able to use their tools/strategies with ease. Thank you so much for impacting our class!”

  • Reading Books at Home

    Funded Sep 9, 2019

Thank you so much for your donation. Before, we were using ziploc bags to keep our books in our classroom. But, through your generous contribution, we are able to store our books safely in our desks with these reading baggies but we are also teaching our children the importance of saving the earth and reusing our resources.

When my students saw their new reading baggies, they were overjoyed to have their own special bag to store their just-right-books. They are taking care of their reading baggies even more knowing that it was donated by you all. One student even shared how they felt so special knowing that there are grown-ups that they don't even know, who are willing to gift us. I was even able to teach them the word "generous" through your generous act to our classroom.

Thank you SO much in believing in our children's future through building good reading habits and also participating in saving our earth!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. (Kim) Yu

  • First Graders Need Privacy!

    Funded Mar 27, 2018

Thank you so much for your donation to fulfill our needs for these privacy folders. We are able to use these privacy folders almost everyday. It gives my students the choice of whether or not they want to use it to help themselves focus better. Not only are these folders good for building independence but it allows my students to grow in their ability to make better choices for themselves.

I have a student in my class who struggles to focus during independent time. This student would rather distract other classmates or find himself lost in thought as he looks around the classroom. Therefore, when receiving these folders, this student was happy to know that he could use it to help himself focus.

Again, thank you so much for investing in my students' learning!”

  • Kindergartners Need Clipboards and Mailboxes for Learning!

    Funded Mar 10, 2016

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our project and donating your finances to this class. The students were able to use these new resources right away! We did not take any time to delay in setting up our materials.

The students use the clipboards a lot, especially during whole group instruction time. I love encouraging my kindergarteners to practice writing their ideas on paper during the lesson. Before having the clipboards, I used folders as a hard surface for them to write on but it usually ended up being a distraction for them. With these clipboards, it allows the students to fully use it to write their ideas especially during reading, writing, and math! The mailbox is another great addition to our classroom. We now have a place for students to practice organizing their own materials. My students are practicing their independence everyday since they are using it to put their work and pick up their mail!

When my students saw the new clipboards and the mailbox, they were beyond excited to get their little hands to use them. I unboxed these materials in front of them and they all shared the same expression, which was that of surprise and appreciation. Each student either had their hands on their cheeks in unbelief that they finally got new materials or had their hands raised up in jubilee and celebration. I will never forget this moment because it brought so much joy to my class.

Now that our classroom have these resources, I cannot wait to incorporate more lessons where they can really utilize the clipboards to their learning. I can even make a center activity where students can use the clipboards to write down sentences to describe the classroom like a detective. I can, also, use the mailbox as a way to create more jobs for my classroom like a mailboy or mailgirl to further encourage helping in the classroom. I am so excited to incorporate these new materials for the rest of the school year and for many more years of teaching!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. (Kim) Yu

My students are a bunch of eager kindergartners who are excited to learn. Although they may be young, they are old enough to learn new things and apply what they learned through independent practice times. My school is just the right place for students to come in to learn and socialize with other students. I wake up every morning excited to come to work because I not only get to see my kids and teach, but I get to interact with all my wonderful coworkers. We are a faculty and staff that work together and collaboratively grow as educators through the different resources and time that we share together in and out of school. I strongly feel that my school creates a very warm and engaging environment for our students to learn their best.
