Supporting Success in Small Groups
Funded Dec 27, 2022Thank you for your donations to my math class at Walker Jones EC! It really makes a difference when students can work in small groups with resources and not be distracted while learning. My students were very excited to receive the headphones that were donated to our classroom. The headphones enable the students to pay attention and interact with the lessons that are designed to meet their individual needs in math. They also enjoyed using the white board in the student led station and the hands-on activities that I used from the donated resource book. Overall, the donations helped greatly in setting up successful learning stations.
The students were excited when they saw all the new items come into the classroom after Christmas break. They took control and worked together to set up a headphone station in class and a system to check out the headphones. It was exciting to see the students take ownership in using the new items in class.
As the year comes to an end, I will focus more on project base activities. Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects. They will demonstrate their knowledge and skills by creating a public product or presentation for a real audience. As a result, students will develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. Therefore, I am sure that the headphones and the white board will be greatly used through the completion of the projects.
Thank you for your kind and generous donations!
We are very appreciative!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Johnson
