We Are All Unique!

I have happy readers now!

When I started getting the packages, I was scared and amazed all at the same time. Wow! I was able to get the funding for my classrooms Donors Chose project. I got the books first, as I unpacked the box I was careful because I did not want anything to happen to them before the students were able to see them, but I was like a kid in a candy store. One day I set up the small group table with all the books and put the flexible seating in different areas of the classroom. When the students came in that morning they were just looking around and wonder what is going on. I explained to them that the wish list I submitted for the class was funded and these are all the things I wished for. I explained to them that we are all unique and the books will help us understand and believe that. They jumped right in, got a book, found a seat and started reading. I have never been able to get them really interested in reading, but I think I have now, with your help. The flexible seating is great because they do not have to sit on the floor or bare carpet when in small group centers or D.E.A.R (drop everything and read time). I can not explain to you how grateful we are for your help funding our project "We Are All Unique!"”
