Defining Knowledge

I was beyond excited when I found out that my Donors Choose project was fully funded. Last year was my first year teaching third grade, and the students were frequently needing to use a dictionary. I did not have a class set, and would have to borrow from the other teachers. I had heard from others about Donors Choose, and decided to give it a try. I quickly found out that this is the most wonderful program for needy classrooms.

It is amazing to see students spelling, and pronouncing the weekly spelling words. But, often they do not know the meaning. Using the dictionaries, they learn the definitions and are able to write better sentences.

Through the monetary support that you have provided, I have seen learning in progress. The dictionaries are used each week, and I thank you for your support. My students also thank you for your generosity!”
