Our classroom is very diverse in ethnicity. We are made of African Americans, Hispanics, Caucasians, and Asians. Some of my students have come to school from Mexico for the first time ever. Most of my students are from families that are either a single parent home or are being raised by grandparents. Our school is the only place that they are able to have access to technology. Everyone receives free lunch because of socio-economic statues. We walk our students home each day to ensure safety reasons. The faculty and staff of our school have embraced the students and we strive to give each one of them an opportunity to succeed and know that they are important no matter what home may be like. We provide after school programs that teachers volunteer to facilitate to teach english and life skills. They learn to do and relate to things in society that they may never get to experience. For example, he or she may learn how to behave in a museum, or what the purpose of a museum is.
