Paper, pencils, markers, and dry-erase materials are consumed daily by my students, and very often, we run out of those necessary materials to complete our reading, writing, and literacy activities. It is often difficult to get supplies in a timely manner. So, these Boogie Boards and Gel Boards will allow my students to complete their work, document what they have learned with our classroom document camera, utilizing digital storage of their work, and then erase their work so they can reuse the board or leave it ready for the next student to use. It also eliminates paper waste because if they make a mistake, they can simply start over without using another sheet of paper. All of their work can be done without consuming paper, pencils, markers, or dry-erase materials, thus eliminating the need to constantly restock these supplies and reducing the costs associated with their purchase. Without worrying about wasting conserving materials, I can better focus my attention on teaching my students how to read and write and meet literacy standards with more fun and engaging technology integrations. The book bags and stands are for storing our boogie boards and gel boards in stations and centers. The literacy dice are to encourage students and myself to ask questions related to their learning so they can in turn use their boogie board and gel board to answer the questions, then document it with the class document camera. I included a few extra stylus pens just in case we misplace them.
