Having high interest reading material is important for language learning. Students will be able to identify with the students in this book because they, too, enjoy talking a lot. This book would be very useful for those in the class to discover other ways of communication and to decide for themselves if they can say more with less words. I like the book No Talking because it is about students who take it upon themselves to compete in speaking less. This book lends itself to good discussions about when is too much talking excessive and how is it viewed as well as what do we really say when we speak? I believe my students would benefit a great deal from reading this book and discussing it in class. Unfortunately, my department has zero money to purchase new books and this is too long to photocopy. Having a class set of these books would be terrific and would be used in all of my classes so that all 100+ of my students would enjoy it!
