My students are socioeconomically low and highly motivated to academically excel. Many of our students and families in our community are English Learners. Our students have limited life experiences and very few examples of academically successful people in their lives. Our school has worked diligently to build good relationships with our families and our community. For the past three years we have partnered with a local university.The college students tutor our students in all academic areas and encourage them to go to college. My class is a Personalized Learning environment where the students strive for mastery of all standards by working at their own pace. The goal is for each student to take ownership of their own education. Not only do my students get to sit where they learn the best, but they also have choice in how they learn, what they learn and how to demonstrate mastery. Every day each student is challenged at their own personal academic level to learn without limits.
