  • Basic Needs for Success!

    Funded May 8, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation of essential classroom materials, including Velcro, folders, coloring books, markers, caddies, laminating pouches, dry erase boards, and headphones, has significantly enhanced the learning experience for special needs students. These resources play a critical role in fostering an inclusive, structured, and engaging environment that supports the diverse needs of each student.

Velcro has proven invaluable for creating adaptive learning materials and visual schedules, helping students with developmental or sensory challenges follow routines and stay organized.

Coloring books and markers offer both creative expression and motor skill development. For students working on fine motor control or sensory integration, coloring activities provide an outlet for relaxation and creativity while strengthening hand-eye coordination.

The addition of caddies helps ensure that all classroom supplies are neatly stored and accessible. For students who benefit from clearly defined spaces and organized materials, caddies make it easier to focus on tasks, fostering a sense of independence as they learn to manage and retrieve their own supplies.

The donation of these tools not only alleviates financial burdens on families but also empowers educators to meet the needs of each student more effectively. The generosity of donors has a lasting impact, helping special needs students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally as they work toward achieving their educational goals in an environment that nurtures their strengths and individuality.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lloyd

  • Coffee Time

    Funded May 8, 2024

We are deeply grateful for your generous support through coffee donations to our school-based coffee shop. Your contributions have a profound impact, going far beyond providing coffee.

Your donation enables our students to gain essential life and vocational skills. Working in the coffee shop teaches students with special needs valuable lessons in customer service, time management, teamwork, and financial literacy. These experiences help foster independence, build confidence, and equip them for future employment opportunities.

Watching our students light up with excitement when they master new tasks or receive compliments from customers is a joy that wouldn't be possible without you. Your donation has a direct hand in fostering that confidence, reminding them of their limitless potential.

Thanks to your coffee donations, you are helping us provide more than just a learning space — you're helping build futures. On behalf of our students, we thank you for making this possible. Together, we are brewing success, one cup at a time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Lloyd

My class is made up of six very special boys with their own unique personalities and their own special needs. The students range from grade 6 to 9. Our students have multiple disabilities and do require assistance to participate in daily activities. Our day consists of assistance with self-help and hygiene, related arts, circle time, fine motor activities, IEP work stations, as well as physical, occupational and speech therapies. The students all love the multi-sensory room. Our school is a separate school that serves students throughout all of our County. Most students have concurrent challenges such as blindness, deafness, or physical disabilities. Each student at our school has an Individual Education Plan. Students have access to the State Curriculum Standards and are evaluated on the SC-Alternative Assessment as directed by the "No Child Left Behind" mandate.
