Your generosity and kind words have brightened my week. My students were so thankful and excited each time we got a donation. The supplies will definitely create opportunities for fun activities and growth. Your donation will benefit a diverse group of learners from various backgrounds. We are extremely grateful for your support.”

  • Carpets for Conversation Circles!

    Funded Jan 25, 2017

Thank you so much for your donation! The carpet has been a huge blessing and success. We now have plenty of room to spread out and effectively use classroom conversations! It's definitely cozier and more inviting to the kids. They no longer groan at the thought of having to sit on the carpet together! We're all super grateful and love the awesome color and style of the rug. Our room is already a fun place to be but now there is room for everyone. I appreciate your help in making my classroom environment better!”

  • Making English Accessible Through Dictionaries

    Funded Dec 8, 2016

Thank you again for donating the funds for me to get bilingual dictionaries for my ESL students! They have impacted my classroom greatly. The students (especially the newcomers) are enjoying them and accessing the grade level content with more ease. In my classroom--they are expected to learn CCSS grade level standards. This work is often too challenging for them because they don't know all of the vocabulary. The dictionaries are a great tool for them now because they can look up new vocabulary during reading. During writing--if they're struggling to connect the Spanish word to English--they can now use the dictionary to assist them! They're feeling more confident because they can quietly go get a dictionary and continue with their work without calling attention to themselves!”

    With gratitude,

  • Invigorating Informational Text Readers!

    Funded May 6, 2016

    Dear Donors,

Thank you again for your donation. The project has been a great success! We are now able to incorporate more informational/non-fiction text in the classroom. The magazines have been a great resource. They provide information on important and enjoyable topics for my students. We are using them during whole group and I provide extension opportunities to further their learning during center time. My students and I are incredibly grateful and I have noticed a definite improvement in their reading, thinking, and comprehension. Simply put, you're the best!”

  • Recruiting Rocking Readers!

    Funded Dec 27, 2015

First, just let me say--thank you. Your generosity has influenced my classroom so much. The kids and I are extremely appreciative of what you've provided. Simply put, you're the best.

We have been using the reading resources in so many different ways. My third graders use them during our hour of intervention and we play a jeopardy like game. It's improving their language skills in a big way. My fourth graders are really focusing on vocabulary and they use the materials during our center rotations. They complete the centers and write about it. My kindergarten students are using them to develop vocabulary and phonemic awareness. Everyone is so enthused with the new materials.

In the future--I'd like to expand my classroom library to include more bilingual books and books by multicultural authors. I'd also like to procure more headphones and a lap top.

You have 38 very happy children and one extremely grateful teacher.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Morrow

  • Engaging Enthusiastic English Learners!

    Funded Aug 23, 2015

First off, allow me to say thank you again for the wonderful contribution you made to my classroom. The I pads are engaging my students like never before and allowing them to practice reading, writing, and speaking English.

My students love that they get their own time with the I pad and have the option to choose whatever app they want to for the day. A favorite has been Brain pop ESL and Epic Books. I use them to read my kids stories or as an alternative to writing on paper.

My students who are new to the country get access to this program that speaks to them in Spanish and then translate it into English. They love it. They love feeling connected and familiar in a country where very few things are the same. Thank you, again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Morrow
