  • Hungry High Schoolers

    Funded Feb 3, 2025

Thank you so much for allowing me to keep my snack drawer stocked! It's much easier to help my students when I have help from generous donors like you.

When one of my students was grumbling about his stomach growling last week, I was able to offer him a granola bar to hold him over until lunchtime. He was able to focus on his learning because his most pressing need-his hungry belly--was taken care of.

Although I will always find a way to take care of my students, when I have support from people like you, it makes it so much easier and more sustainable to do that!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • Betas Serving the Community

    Funded Oct 24, 2024

Our birthday box project is complete, thanks to you! Our Senior Beta Club met before school one morning and constructed the boxes which included a cake mix and a can of sprite with a recipe, a can of frosting, a birthday banner, a package of birthday cake candles, and a disposable pan. When the boxes were complete, they were delivered to our local family resource center to be distributed to needy families in our community.

The Beta Club members discussed what it would be like to not have a birthday celebration, the importance of food banks, and the importance of community service while they constructed the boxes.

Thank you for giving us the ability to complete this fantastic community service activity!”

  • A Breath of Fresh Air

    Funded Jun 14, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me provide an air purifier and replacement filters for my classroom. It seems like it is always allergy season of some kind here in North Alabama, so we are happy to have a little help to keep the room fresh and clean. The students noticed the air purifier and asked lots of questions about it. They understand that we should be full of gratitude.

I love being able to provide a great learning space for my students, and it is so much easier to do that with generous people like you who help fund my projects.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • Calm Lights and Comfy Spaces

    Funded Jul 6, 2024

Thank you for helping me create a calm, comfortable space for my students to learn. I have already had so many compliments and comments from students expressing how much they like the classroom.

Many of them have let me know that they prefer the lighting from the lamps over the fluorescent overhead lighting, and I am so glad I have these lamps.

The rug and wall art add to the overall comfortable, warm feeling of the room, and I know that my students appreciate the thought and planning I put in the space. I couldn't have created this room without your donations!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • Restocking Basics

    Funded May 22, 2024

Thank you so much for helping me restock the basic supplies in my classroom. It is the third day of school, and students have already needed many of the supplies. Paper towels are the most popular item so far.

I will always keep my classroom stocked with items my students may need, but with help from generous, kind people like you who donate to my projects, the financial burden is not as high on me, the teacher.

Thank you for helping me make my classroom a great place to not only help students learn, but help them thrive!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • Middle School Snacks

    Funded Feb 15, 2024

My students and I are so appreciative of you! It is so nice to be able to provide these snacks for my students when they need a little something.

Mid-afternoon and before sports practice are very popular times for someone to need a snack. Although I will always take care of my students, it is so nice to know that I don't have to do it alone. Kind-hearted people like you help me take care of them.

Donors Choose is such a helpful organization for teachers, and I hope you continue to support them and teachers like me!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • Reading Nook

    Funded Sep 26, 2023

My students are so excited about this cute little sofa that is the star of our reading nook. They all want to take turns to sit here and read. I love anything in my classroom that encourages them to read!

Without donations from generous people like you, I would never be able to run my classroom the way I do. People like you help make public education better every day. Things like this sofa that I know will help my students read more and learn more just wouldn't be possible without you.

Thank you for thinking of us and donating to this project!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • New Book Storage

    Funded Jun 30, 2023

As an ELA teacher, books are probably the most important item you will find in my classroom. I have lots and lots of books, but they must be organized to be worth anything. With these new book storage baskets and other storage items, I am able to effectively organize my books to be the best for my students. My students know where to go for whatever they feel like reading each day.

Thank you for your support of my project, my students, and public education. You really made a difference, and you make my job easier!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown

  • Clean Classroom

    Funded May 18, 2023

I'm so thankful for these supplies to keep my classroom clean. Clean classrooms are a great place to learn, so I expect lots of learning to take place this year. My students will have a healthy, fresh, clean classroom to work in.

Because of your donations, I will not have to purchase these supplies on my own. That is enough to make me smile, for sure! I am thankful to have a good supply of products I can use to make my room a clean, welcoming environment.

Please continue to support public school projects through Donors Choose!”

    With gratitude,

  • Bare Necessities

    Funded May 9, 2023

I hope I can convey to you what a difference this project makes in my classroom, because it's a big one! I am able to provide basic necessities such as deodorant, hair ties, lotion, sanitary pads, and more to my students because of the generous donation you made.

Students are able to learn better because their basic needs are taken care of; they know if they need something, I more than likely have it. I am so happy to be able to do this for them, but it's only possible because of your help. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Brown
