  • Lights, Camera, Action!

    Thank you so much for helping PS 20 acquire a video camera package. Our school has created a dance and theater program for our school. This equipment allows us to film these wonderful students to provide feedback prior to their performance to allow them to see exactly what is needed to become the best they can be. The camera has also allowed us to provide a quality memory of their performance. Now the parents can enjoy the show as opposed to watching the show through their cell phone. They can sit back and enjoy the show knowing we can provide that memory for them.

    Last year we put on Aladdin. It was the first time we used the equipment We filmed the show and then had a "Showing" for the cast days later. To watch their faces as they saw themselves up on the screen was magical. To say they were excited is an understatement! Now they can see how fabulous they are, something we saw all along.

The students in my school have never seen themselves on stage. Do you know why? We have no way of filming them! Filming with an iPhone is no way to capture this memorable moment which is often the highlight of their elementary school years. Providing a way to see themselves on stage will not only allow them to share their success with family members not able to make the performance, but they will be able to see what I see every year....they are AWESOME! The boost in confidence is something that will last a lifetime. I hope we can make it happen.

About my class
