  • iPad Minis For Our Flipped Classroom!

    Funded Mar 9, 2016

    Dear Donor,

I can not thank you enough for funding the beginning of my flipped classroom. Having our three iPad Minis has made a huge impact in my classroom. I'm a huge believer of students needing to innovate, create, and collaborate. These iPads have allowed my students to do just that.

One project that we have worked on since receiving our iPads has been creating an interactive trading card that students can share with one another using the Trading Card App. We read an informational text about toy inventors and all the difficulties many of them faced before their products became popular. The students each chose a toy from the book to represent in their trading card. They created their cards using information from the text and images from the internet. After they were done, they shared the card with me, and I was able to see how much they understood from the text right on my camera roll! The students also shared their card with their peers. It was so fun seeing them reading each others cards!

We use many other collaborative apps such as Google Classroom and Padlet. Having technology in my classroom has made learning more fun for the students. Sometimes I think they even forget they are working on an assignment!

Thank you again for funding this project. Being a part of Best School Day was one of the highlights on my school year. Sharing the news with my class and school was so much fun. I envision a classroom full of technology one day. Thanks to you, I am one step closer!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Diggs

I have a class of 30 amazing students. These kids come from all different backgrounds and families. Some of my students are from very high class families. Some are from very low class families. When they enter my classroom, together they become a mixture of minds that spark ideas and amazing discussions from one another.
