These books will allow for an in-depth novel study of an awarding winning book that I believe my students will enjoy. Students come to the once a week as a whole class and they choose books they want to read, but I want to open their minds to excellent through a novel study. When students experience good with rich themes and exciting characters they not only learn about , but they learn about the world around them. They make connections that are real and emotional even when the words are from a fictional book. This particular book has been chosen with my students in mind. It is a great work of fiction that brings attention to real-life issues dealing with friendship and mismanagement of animals. With these new books, my students will learn a great deal about unlikely friendships, the power of caring, and animal conservation efforts. These books will continue to help my students grow stronger in and allow them to celebrate the power of unexpected friendship. Inspired by the true story of a silverback who lived in a circus-themed in state. This story will engage students in deep conversations about character, word choice, and actions. My students will have the opportunity to explore the universal themes that make Ivan’s story so memorable
