  • Spring Into Some Fresh Materials!

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

I look forward to receiving these materials! My students will be able to create so many cool puppets and other items for their final projects. The tissues are essential for surviving the rest of pollen season, and the other materials will be put into good use as soon as we receive them. I am so grateful for your contributions to the success of my students as we finish out this school year.”

  • Big, Bold, Bright, Creative and Clean!

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

I am so appreciative of the donations that came in quickly today on the match day to get this funded. So much classroom supplies come out of this teacher’s pocket. Having these supplies here to use in the classroom daily will make a huge difference. I am humbled by your generosity.”

  • Broadcasting Awesome Things in Drama Class!

    Funded Oct 20, 2020

My students have been able to use these microphones easily to create many different projects. They have excitedly created read alouds, puppet shows, and radio plays. These microphones have been used for more things than I could ever imagine.

Your donations have enabled these students to use their voices to bring to life Elephant and Piggie, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, The Ugly Duckling and so many other projects. These microphones have been so easy to use and the students are thrilled to incorporate them into their learning.”

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

I am humbled and grateful for your generosity. My students will be thrilled (in a subdued way, of course!) • Wiggle and Wobble but don’t fall down!

    Funded Sep 30, 2020

When we got the notice that the wobble stools had arrived in the main office, I sent two students to pick them up. They excitedly opened the packages and put them together. I had several large seventh and eighth grade boys sit on them immediately.

The chairs have immediate impact in my room. There is tons of nervous energy in schools at the moment. And by having wobble chairs for the students to sit on, I am able to provide them a discreet way to release a bit of that energy. I don't even mind sitting on them myself.

These are dynamically sturdy, and they are designed well. These will be used by all of my students for many years to come. I sincerely appreciate your generosity and my students do also.

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom to help these kids (and me) get our wiggles out!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Faulkenburg

  • Building a Current Science Classroom Library

    Funded Mar 30, 2017

Thanks so much for contributing to my classroom library. It is so important to have current, vibrant science texts in the classroom that students want to look at. These texts have served as reference materials, research materials, and just as books that the students can flip through at their leisure. They are getting used and I am so appreciative. We have loved having the current texts in my classroom to use when we have approached the subjects taught within. I am so grateful to have these current science nonfiction texts in my classroom.”

  • Silly Stories to Create Simple Scripts!

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

The books that were purchased for my classroom have been enjoyed by all of my students. My sixth grade students used them in the spring to help create beginning scripts. They cracked themselves up reading the Elephant and Piggie books among themselves!

In addition to being used in the spring for this purpose, we have used these books since coming back to school in the fall of 2020 with listening to how we enunciate and emphasize particular words and phrases. I have heard more than one student exclaim, "Oh! I loved these books!" when they were making their selections.

These books are also used with my modified drama class. These are students who are primarily non verbal. And the short stories with the easy phrases are funny and they keep the students' attention.

I sincerely appreciate the generosity of those donors who contributed to this project to help my silly ideas come to life. These children are hilarious, and kind, and thoughtful, and I am so lucky to teach them. Thank you for helping me to grow these students.”

  • Write Your Own Story!

    Funded Aug 12, 2020

COVID has definitely changed how Drama looks in my classroom this year. And the very first project that we have dived into is our puppetry/folktale project. This project has been a joy to observe. These students have come up with the entire thing. The scripts, the puppets, and the performance have all come alive.

This would not have been possible without the generosity of your donations to my classroom. I allowed my students to select their own stories from the ones that were selected as a part of this DonorsChoose project, and I so enjoyed watching them pick tales that I've never heard before. I sincerely believe this is a project that these students will remember for a really long time! Thank you again, for helping these students broaden their horizons with these materials!”

  • Can You Hear Me Now?

    Funded Jan 31, 2019

Thanks so much for contributing to my donorschoose project. We are so grateful to have the supplies replenished mid-year. The speakers were a welcome addition to my classroom as we are a performance based and critiqued class, therefore it is almost a necessity to have working speakers!

I have a current donorschoose project up on the site. At this point I have been checking out several books from the library every semester, and it will be so nice to have my own collection! This way I don't have to worry about overdue fines!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Faulkenburg

My students are eager to collaborate and learn with one another! In drama class we explore our voices and how they work. We also explore theatre history, improvisational techniques, characterization, and dialog. Additionally, my students get a teeny taste of the technical side of theatre.
