Hello, I am an energetic and committed teacher. I have been teaching students with disabilities for 17 years. My introduction to teaching began when I was just 17 years old, teaching children swimming in South Central Los Angeles. My experiences over the 22 years working in aquatics for LA County, and teaching in an urban school district have had a dramatic influence on the teacher that I am today. Students with disabilities struggle to learn, but they can learn. I love the challenge of finding a way to help them break down the barriers and watching them succeed. I am committed to creative and engaging instruction because teaching only truly occurs when the teacher reaches the student in a meaningful way. "It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge." Albert Einstein.
